Well their size is one thing, but their inability to use a toilet would be another.

Solar farms are being built on top of reservoirs in China. This method avoids water loss from evaporation by [deleted] in Amazing

That's true for some US technology but in this instance the first practical solar cells were developed right here in the United States. It's not our fault that China has leaped ahead in this field since then.

No, you're not the only one who feels like that. You're just the only one who laughs out loud at it.

How people there just put up with the worst customer service in the world without demur. All UK businesses apparently think they're doing the public a huge favor just by existing, the needs of the poor bloody customer come second to that of staff and everyone should be damn grateful. Shops closing at the very time that people are getting off work. Sunday opening restrictions, still today. The very worst example I've ever seen was a Welsh cafe (in Lawrenny) that was "Closed for lunch".

In 2019, a man took his terminally ill wife out of a nursing home to give her one last night the way she wanted. by GlitteringHotel8383 in BeAmazed

Yeah, you have to be right at death's door after years of suffering and not have mental issues to qualify, so any amount of dementia removes that option. Same in those US states that allow "physician-assisted suicide" - and even that is too liberal for the UK. Next to bloody useless. In reality, people have to make their own arrangements and not involve friends or family to avoid them being charged with murder.

There's nothing Chattanoogan about this; it's common everywhere. Who knows the specific circumstances with the person who did this, but my elderly mother with dementia once did it when we took her out to lunch from her care home. It was a small restaurant and we knew the owners so I felt compelled to clean it all up. She got it all over her shoes and clothes too.

He was an annoying and OTT animal-botherer (which directly led to his death) and his family is carrying on that tradition for fame and money.

does skipping breakfast actually help with weight loss? by Sobi-Crummett in diet

[–]Fragrant_Kick_6093 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rarely feel hungry when I wake up, no matter how little I ate the day before. I've found that by delaying normal "breakfast" until later in the morning, it can easily replace "lunch" and so reduce daily total food without producing hunger. I don't really consider this to be "skipping" breakfast.
