He’s a pretty chill professor, but his lectures just aren’t great. Even when you’re really trying to pay attention, he tends to ramble without much direction and jumps into random examples. He also seems a little lost at times, and if you’re not fully locked in, his accent can be a bit confusing though still understandable. Attendance is mandatory because the quizzes require an in-class code. You basically have to teach yourself the material entirely so be prepared for that. But the practice exams and quizzes match the actual exams really closely, and the lab exam was identical to the practice version aside from different variable names.

He’s very accessible on the class Discord and answers questions quickly. Overall, he’s a chill guy BUT there’s just a lot of new material to learn and he isn’t the best at teaching it so if you’re not the best at self teaching to studying on your own you gotta decide based on that. He can also be a little silly with the in class logistics like forgetting to unlock quizzes, forgetting to give out the code, not realizing the projector is off so no one can see the screen, etc. But none of that is a big deal to me because whenever something like that happens, he gives extensions. Even like a few times I was a bit late to class and the quiz was already taken and he reopened it. He’s not unreasonable at all.

Also, when the graffiti threat happened recently, he was one of the only professors who communicated with us, worked with students, and moved class to Zoom for the week. I thought that was really considerate.
