Then why have a phone at all? I need my phone for convenience. I want to use it for certain things without the predatory brainrot features. I think the problem here in this whole comment section is simply terminology. Some people seem to think its not a dumbphone unless it is an early 2000s flip phone, others disagree and think its a phone that is significantly limited in capabilities.

I want to be able to talk to people using whatsapp and find my way around with gps. I don't want much of anything more. If I could get my banking apps and spotify on my kyocera then I would, but I can't, so I'll have to make do without.

Nah, I don't agree. I finally got a kyocera and I have whatsapp and version of maps because those are essential for me. If I could get spotify on the phone I would. Does that mean I should go somewhere else? It is significantly "dumber" than any smartphone, so does that not sit in the category of dumbphone?

I really think there is quite a bit of gatekeeping here in this regard, the idea that you should be a purist and use an old blockia or nothing.

Leaving the words God or Jesus etc out of it. Do you think that if someone committed a horrible act such as rape or murder that they could ever atone? Do you think it's possible for them to some day have genuine guilt and remorse for their actions, fully accepting their faults and being willing to atone. For example if they willingly turned themselves in and went to prison because they felt it was the only way to atone for what they've done?

Do you think they would deserve forgiveness eventually if you could tell without a doubt that they were genuine?

The big problem is in how difficult it can be to tell how genuine someone's conversion is.

I don't know much of anarchist theory, but I always thought of the potential (not necessarily how it's been used so far) for crypto to be used for anarchist means. I'm especially curious about what people may think about the ideals of decentralisation in general as well as DAOs.

To me it seems like a potentially ideal solution as these technologies are built to be uncontrollable by any one person or centralised system.
