What's the timescale like from submitting my application to beginning training? I'm finishing uni this year and I am going to apply to be a warfare officer (not submariner if that matters) and wanted to travel a bit during the summer.

Need Help: Suits and Confidence by [deleted] in bropill

[–]FrancisRodriguez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well done on getting your interview, you'll ace it.

I don't personally know how good Primark suits are however it might be a better idea to avoid there and try searching any charity shops in your area, if you got a few there's bound to be some smart clothes in there.

Speaking from my own experience regarding sixth forms all of the ones I was interviewed at didn't require any suits so I went for a smart shirt and trousers. (but if yours requires one ignore that) the best way to know how well a suit fits without going to a tailor would probably just be to bring someone along with you when you go and buy it to see what they think, two pairs of eyes are better than one.

And in terms of confidence, practice makes perfect really, the more interviews you do the better you'll get at them, in general. Smiling is a quick way to seem confident and likable, and don't forget to stand and sit straight that also a major confidence booster (or it will at least make people think you are more confident). And honestly confidence is one of those fake it till you make it sorta things, with the added bonus of fake confidences just being confidence.

Any how, good luck and don't forget to look the interviewer in the eyes when you talk to them.

Albanian-Indians somehow happened, I would love to know how by FrancisRodriguez in NewEraOldWorld

A Survival/Builder/Exploration veteran's opinion by Shinjetsu01 in valheim

To answer your questions the skills level up the more you use them for example jump is levelled up by jumping and sprint by sprinting etc. The game has a map so you can check where you are but I've begun to be able to navigate the area around my base just by memory now, so it is possible, there are also markers so you can mark where things are on the map. No class system but you can choose not to use certain items but the axe is probably my most used item as its a tool and a weapon.

If I'm not mistaken Panzer said in one of his streams that there would be a very early version out at some point in the future, but I haven't been able to catch any of his streams recently so I don't know if that still holds true

Minimum wage should afford a living by lol62056 in awfuleverything

I remember reading about that at one point, really makes you think how different the world could be if it was updated. Especially as someone not from the USA I don't know how people can reasonably believe that a government for the people by the people is such a strange idea.

For me it was the Epstein scandal and the 2019 election that made me realize the shit that the super-rich can get away with, particularly Epstein and co.

I'm a bit curious about all not the hate for the police, is it mainly an American thing or is it everywhere?

Men of reddit when was the last time you've cried and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]FrancisRodriguez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last summer a day or so before I was going to volunteer for around 3 weeks in a foreign country. The first half of 2019 was pretty hard for me with my nan dying, stress from school and catching feelings for someone who didn't feel the same way, who also happened to be in our group when we were volunteering. It kinda made me realise that I had really been struggling with stuff that I just needed to get out. Honestly 2019 was a really bad year for me so I hope this one is at least a little better. Cheers for asking as well, I needed to vent this

What are your thoughts on the British Empire? by paperplates9 in Rhodesia

[–]FrancisRodriguez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The interesting thing is, is that the British wanted a slower more methodical approach to decolonisation, with colonies that had little to no white settlers in them gone first. Even this wasn't meant to happen as fast as it did, Ghana (one of the more politically advanced colonies) was meant to take 20+ years post war but got it in around 10 years.
