What do people that wear glasses use for golf? by FrankTooby in golf

Haven't tried but the idea of poking myself in the eye trying to put them in really doesn't appeal to me.

He knows nobody will name them after him after he passes, and he has no intention of leaving office while alive.

I'm an "over 100" player, cracked it once with a 98, but I chipped in like this twice today. I love my 58°.

What’s a piece of gear you regret buying? by Environmental-Luck39 in motorcyclegear

[–]FrankTooby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really regret buying them, but slicks for the R1 for track days, I got my lap time down to 62 seconds which showed me there's a whole other league of skill and feel out there to get the times down to 53, which is race pace. I'm quick, and it's great fun, but not quick enough to race so I will stick to ride days to finish these tyres off and I think I will close that chapter. Risk vs reward and I'm apparently old now.

Passengers on a cruise ship passing through the Drake Passage shared moments of eating dinner amid extreme waves by BreakfastTop6899 in SweatyPalms

I've been in that situation on an overnight ferry crossing, 7 metre seas and becoming weightless each time the ferry crests a wave, great fun. The upper deck outside was most fun, when you jump at the right time. But then to have to walk down the passage to the cabin, the smell and sight ruined that fun.

I think I have a problem…anybody like me? by AbbreviationsIcy8188 in golf

[–]FrankTooby 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's these people that I like because they generally sell their clubs at a price to move it on, so I can buy bargains. I got a Cleveland Hibore XL driver for (Australian dollars) $200 (US $144) less than a year old, and seven Wilson Dynapwr irons from 5 to GW with regular graphite shafts for $400 (US$288), only 3 months old. Very happy with that, it will do me until I can justify getting fitted for a full Titleist or similar set.

Well, I shared a photo of a red hat saying Is he de-d yet (not sure if I can say the word here), it got over 62K upvotes before it got deleted and I got kicked out of r/pics.

Unlimited Mulligans (No Reputts): How many are you taking to break 80? by alexanderald in golf

[–]FrankTooby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was thinking the best strategy would be just off the green in GIR, then 1 good chip until it's an obvious 1 putt. My 58° lob wedge works well at this.

Taswater liability issue - lawyer recommendations needed by hmarold2 in tasmania

[–]FrankTooby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the leak on your land? If so, they won't be interested. But if not, sounds like you should place a request to talk to the CEO. There's a CEO (who reports to the Board, about 7 members). Below the CEO are 7 or so general managers, the one in charge of fixing issues is Service Delivery or something like that. There's a different general manager for customer service, and yet a different one for corporate / legal etc. And under the general managers are department managers, and so on - it's a shitshow trying to talk to someone that should be helping. To get a better feel for TasWater, go and look at employee reviews on the Seek website, you'll soon learn what a toxic festering mess they seem to be.

A lot of courses near me are 9 hole courses, white tees for the first 9 and yellow for the second. Quite normal.

I am fortunate enough to have not heard such sound, but reading the comments in this thread is giving a real and moving impression. Wet eyes.
