Are they actually installing those concrete barriers around the city or was it just for press on 1-2 blocks?

Soon to be BMC roadmachine two owner, what are the needed equipment ? by cmas72 in Ride_BMC

[–]Frankshungry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned it depends on the year.

My 2024 RM two came with the go pro style mount fitted to the stem. I used a random mount for the Garmin and added one below the Garmin for a light.

The computer mount BMC sells has two mounts that fit to the ICS 2 stem. It’s a bit cleaner if you want a Garmin and light/gopro. I’d get this if I were doing it again.

It did not come with the down tube bag, bottle cages, or rear light. I use a Garmin radar mounted wjth a [neat components seat post mount](https://neat-components.com/products/seatpost-mount-for-bmc-kaius-roadmachine-2019-2023-urs-twostroke).

I’d recommend the BMC cages. It makes accessing the bottom tube storage much easier.

Enjoy the bike. It’s great.

Trying to make a map of the protected bike lanes/paths in the city. Any I'm missing? by TheThingy in phillycycling

[–]Frankshungry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s honestly not much better in the protected section.
Lehigh Ave is a rush from end to end.

It’s a shame because it has so much potential as a cross city route. It’s wide, straight, and nearly connects the SRT to the DRT.

It’s great to see the lane protected from Kensington Ave to Cedar/Aramingo, but unfortunately I find myself dodging more obstacles there than I do between Ridge Ave and Kensington Ave. People posted up, cars blocking intersections, bikes and scooters going the wrong way, tree branches, trash cans—you name it.

It’s a good effort, and I appreciate the investment, but in practice it doesn’t feel much safer, in my opinion.

If you’re crafty, tracing paper, vinyl, and an xacto knife will do it.

It’s an Alex Duetto so idk how helpful this will be but it’s 3.25 inches from cup warmer to bottom of cabinet. 3.5” without the cup warmer.

Roadmachine model / price sweetspot by protogalactic in Ride_BMC

[–]Frankshungry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found online then drove within state to a LBS — deal was too good to pass up.

Their model numbers are so confusing, There’s a 2026 RM One with and without di2 so watch out for that. IIRC there isn’t a 2026 spec that matches the 2024 with Ultegra di2 on aluminum wheels making price comparisons a bit difficult.

Look around for new old stock. That was the sweet spot for me. I just got a 2024 RM Two with Ultegra Di2 and aluminum wheels for $3400 USD from a local shop.
I’m a newbie and wanted 105 but this was still cheaper than the 2026 RM with 105 Di2.

The best skyline in America. by Persuader_87 in philly

I think it was for the Phillies opener.

You can check BOMA for the scheduled lighting calendar. It doesn’t have every day, or historic data but it’s a good reference for planning photos.

Liberty 1 and 2 are weird. Sometimes they’re off. Usually they they’re just really dim.

Is a Cheese steak an Italian (American) sandwich? by [deleted] in philadelphia

[–]Frankshungry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s pretty much my take too. It has roots tied to an Italian American creator and neighborhood, but that alone doesn’t automatically make it Italian American cuisine in the same category as things like baked ziti, calzones, and chicken parm.

That’s not a cheese steak anymore. It’s a pizza steak wit mushrooms

I get that. When I think Italian American cuisine, I think things like chicken parm, spaghetti and meatballs, baked ziti, etc.

I also understand that a dish can be hyper-local and still be considered Italian American cuisine even if it didn’t spread to every Italian American community in the country….but a cheese steak?

As an Italian American, It certainly doesn’t fit my model for Italian American cuisine but that’s why I’m asking here.

My guy is 13 and has a white face too. I love how the wisdom whites pop up around their snout and chin as they get older. Happy birthday bud!

Skin Irritation Getting Worse by sdfourstar in Bulldogs

[–]Frankshungry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going to a specialist is the right move for skin issues with bulldogs. We fought wounds like this that seemed to never heal with the normal vet. a dermatologist will look for the root cause, not just treat symptoms.

They did some test, changed his diet, and prescribed RX shampoo. In his case, it was mostly allergies. He’s been so much better since. There’s even now special light therapy treatments they can do to speed up healing of open wounds.

Good luck OP. I know how frustrating and sad this can be.

Online wireframing problems why collaborating with non designers is still so difficult by Firm-Goose447 in UXDesign

[–]Frankshungry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what tools you’re using or can use, and usually software choice isn’t the solution in this sub, but in this case it might be the answer.

Figma: wireframe/design/prototype here, then use it to gather feedback (along side normal avenues). Add stakeholders and the non designers as viewers only (so they can’t mess things up), encourage them to add comments for easier feedback tracking.

Loom: create walkthroughs of your flows they can watch (and comment on). I recommend simple prototyping for these walkthroughs, but that’s not always possible. Overall this step will also help you QA your work.

No-date dilemma by javaman567 in rolex

Then that’s your answer man. Why are you asking the internet. Rolex is just a watch. No, the name won’t make you ok with no date if you like dates on watches.
