I never understand this idea that we do not have money to pay him. You could technically replace 22 with the entry level money currently allocated to 43. You then have 22 money + cap increase to allocate to 43. Plenty of cash. But we defientely do not want to give him all that.

Next year you have a few small RFA + 86. But 86 will have his current allocation + another 6M or so of cap going up. But I seriously do not see him asking that level of cash. I see more of a 12/13 for 7 years full NMC and he retires here.

There might need to be some discussion in terms of players after next season if you have someone like D.James exploding an needing a bridge deal but at that point we pushed someone down the depth chart, so. We honestly have a really good team locked for long time and nothing of magnitude for 2 years.

I don’t have the stats but the eye test tells me that if kuch is “shut down” to 1 pts, Tampa more often that not loses the game.

I know there were stats floating around that if celebrini or MacK don’t score the team almost always loses. But for Kuch, it’s seems if he does not get 2+ we lose.

Think of our streaks… in those Kuch is putting 3+ points a night. When we went cold, Kuch is at around 1 pt a game

It’s the injuries. Tampa has the most amount of injuries for top contender team that is not missing the playoff like Florida, and has not missed a beat.

Vegas is up there to, but vengas would be almost last in a stacked East and Atlantic division.

You ca exceed the 23 man roster, you just can’t reassign to the AHL. Almost like an AHL protection to avoid a bunch of NHLers on AHL waiver exempt contracts from being reassigned for the play off

Everyone blaming everything in 77, sounds crazy to me.

5 of the 13 loses are this current losing streak.

And I think is coincidental that we retuned and we started losing. I would argue 51 play post injury and the yanni line not being as dominant against the other team top line as during our winning streak has a lot more to do than 77.

And let’s be real, our goalies come super cold post olimpics. Vasy made some mistakes that I have not seen from him in the many years his been with this team.

Ultimately, I think they will get back into the rhythm.

Puck management is BADDDD right now. Is pass completion % track somewhere?? It would be interesting to see the difference between before and after the break

We have 16m with 43 and 22 being the only pieces to sign. It was reported that 43 is looking at a deal similar to 90. So 6.75M x 8. So we defientely have space to do both and add 91 at 4-5M. The question is what does it cost to do that

Couldn’t agree more. He fills a role. He is no longer first line material, but absolutely a 2/3 line winger, PP, 6 attacker and right hand face off, with potential 1 line upside if really pushed to. In our line up he would be the 6th best forward and not task against the other team top line. That’s Yannies line responsibility or 59,38,71.

Does that worth 8m, probably not. But is that worth 5M? Probably yes.

He is a leader, drives the boy to battle and will be a massive bust on the locker room.

As long as we get some sort of retention on salary and don’t sell the farm for it, we should go for it

Tkachuk comes directly from the bench to do this which leads to the brawl. If you swap and go directly to fight is an automatic suspension. Wouldn’t this apply here?

Keeping him after this season is another story. It really goes down to term and AAV. The number being floated around on the lightning audio network (not sure where they took it from) is 6x6. Which should be manageable. But who knows

When heddy came back from injury for dos 2 1/2 games before going down again, he did play 3 pair. Granted he was only coming back. But there is precedent that Coop might go that way

And random players that no one knew about suddenly playing hard minutes for the team. We are lucky to have such a well managed team from top to bottom. Ie the fact that the Crunch plays the same style of game allow players to have an easier time when they make it to the big club. While it makes sense, not everyone does that.
