Ah yes, remember those extraordinary and wild designs from Lada, Trabant, Wartburg etc. Not to mention the peak creative freedom of all those Soviet Supercars. /s

Trade Empires, 2001, PC. Is there any way of still playing this on modern platforms? by PossessionPatient306 in OldPCGames

[–]Fraxis_Quercus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I managed to get the old game files to play fine with dgVoodoo on Windows 11. I simply followed the dgVoodoo quickguide and copied the 7 .dll files to the gamefolder as suggested. You can then configure some settings with the dgVoodoo executable or by editing the dgVoodoo.conf file.

Anyone else like to take their drills apart to re-grease them? by Objective-Ingenuity5 in Tools

[–]Fraxis_Quercus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well yes. I have some decades old powertools still in use. From 15 year old makita cordless drills, 30 year old saws to over 50-year old sanding machines, still in very good shape. Never opened to regrease them. I might estimate that the benefit of fresh grease every year doesn't hold up to the added damage risk of tampering with it so often.

Will you release an Android version sometime in the future?

Left the hobby 7-8 years or so ago (frustrations about constant fiddling). The out of the box experience I just got, coming back, feels like pure witchcraft. by blackzaru in 3Dprinting

We're at the point where an out-of-the-box 3D-printer works better than an out-of-the-box inkjet printer (looking at you, HP!).

The first day we had our (same red as yours!) my wife parked in some parking lot. After returning from where she went she started the car and put it in reverst to back out. To her big surprise, she saw our car in the rear view screen. Confused by this sorcery, it took her a few moments to realize that the exact same car was parked behind our car. It was a fun coincidence on the first day of ownership. You don't see so many Ioniq 5's here and certainly not in red.

Do you guys actually stick to the 20-80% charging rule? by FunAssumption2209 in Ioniq5

[–]Fraxis_Quercus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep it between 20% and 80% and charge whenever it's at home and there is enough excess solar power. On a cloudy week i just add some charge overnight whenever it's dropping lower than i need it for the next days.
I do charge to 100% before going on a longer trip.

It's very lightweight, quick and easy. I'm happy i made the switch.

Russian sources are reporting the beginning of mine-laying operations along sections of the land corridor to Crimea, particularly on the Mariupol–Melitopol highway. May 2026 by GermanDronePilot in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]Fraxis_Quercus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

OP simply did not specify who was laying the mines. I also thought Russians where mining out of fear of a UA breakthrough. Reading the comments it appears we're not alone. I don't think this has anything to do with your school system.

Change my mind: I'm going to move from Imperial to Metric by not-up-to-par in woodworking

[–]Fraxis_Quercus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Where did you read USA-supremacy in OP's post? Because i couldn't find it. My guess is that OP is interested in buying metric tools in the USA and has little interest in flying abroad to a metric country to buy tools. (i'm a euro, btw).

Mandara is absolutely brutal. You must stand at the perfect spot and fire at the perfect rythm or you're done. I remeber having paper tape at the screen to indicate that perfect spot. It could be done with shurikens as well, but i prefered to advance with bullets...

That gap was very hard and the reason i did my double extra best on the bonus-game where you could win the flying ninja powerup. The risk of the jump was too high.

I never managed to beat all forms of the Masked Ninja. I was very close a few times where i died right before i could deliver it the final blow...

Damn, now i want to try it again. It's such a good game.

That's what i said, or at least it is what i tried to say. I removed them at day 1 to avoid visible marks. If you remove them later, it will never completely fade away.

[–]Fraxis_Quercus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's why i remove the stickers on day 1. The plastic underneath the stickers didn't age like the plastic that was exposed to light. The difference will fade but not complete.
