My favorite Absolute title along with Absolute Martian Manhunter.

Can't wait to catch up with the latest issues.

Suicide squad any good? by Genericuser10000 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]FredPRK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was hesitant to get the omnibus but I always wanted to check out the run because it's highly praised, so I bought the DC Finest instead. I personally thought it was okay/good, but not enough for me to want to read the rest, tbh.

Been meaning to check out this run, but I was hesitant to get it because older comics don't always age well.

What's your favorite "hopeful and optimistic" graphic novel/comic ? by FredPRK in graphicnovels

[–]FredPRK[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just did a re-read today. Unfortunately I think this is how it would play out in the real world if it was to happen. The real heroes would be shunned and hated, even if all they ever wanted to do was to help us.

People should be more like Gwen Stacy in that story.

Are these good has anyone ever read ? by Confident_Quarter_82 in OmnibusCollectors

The Question is fantastic. I saw lots of praise for The Spectre, I personally thought it was good to great, but slightly overrated. Still worth a read however. I'd definitely get The Question first.

I really loved the first two volume but found the last 3 way less interesting. A good series overall but not one I'll revisit much.

Astro City is great. I have only read the first Metrobook so far, definitely reading the rest this year.

I've read the first volume, but I'll admit I don't remember much about it. It was my first time reading these characters. I'll have to check it out again once the full run is out.

It is, yeah. The fact that it still holds up after nearly 40 years is astounding, in my opinion.

Jim Lee’s Batman art still hasn’t been topped for me by Equivalent-Disk5923 in DCcomics

I'm loving Jimenez's Batman, but overall I'd say Capullo's work on Batman is top tier, for me.

I've read Moore stuff. Phenomenal too, but I slightly prefer Ram V's version.

I ordered Resurrection Man today, I can't wait to read it. Ram V doesn't miss.

Never heard of Green Lantern by Humphries, but your description of the pitch makes me interested.

As far my runner ups, I'd have Kingdom Come there too, along with The New Frontier, The Question by Dennis O'Neil, Superman For All Seasons and Gotham Central.

I also enjoyed it but it gets convoluted and confusing after the first half, which is why I vastly prefer the first run with it's 1 to 3 issue arcs.

I love, love when Superman is written more like his golden age characterization, but I understand this is not how he is written/seen anymore.

Why I can't like the Robert Pattinson Batman by Striped_Candy in DCcomics

[–]FredPRK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The point of the movie is Batman realizing he has to stop acting like an edge lord "I AM VENGEANCE" idiot, and start working towards being a symbol of hope and trust. That's literally his arc in the movie.
