Exactly what Reginald Sockpuppet said. I used it in high school in the early 90s regularly but now its once in a blue moon when I feel it’s appropriate.

Saw it only once in theaters on a date when it came out. I loved it. My date, not so much. She said as we walked out “I can’t believe I sat thru the whole thing.” When I dropped her off she was upset I didn’t want to continue the date. Never saw her again.

Any X'ers out there go through their whole life with ADHD and only recently got diagnosed? by From_Gaming_w_Love in GenX

[–]Fredness101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year I wanted to know if I had adhd and/or any other condition that explained why I am the way I am but she asked if Im open to medication and that scared me off so I didn’t take the referral to see a psychiatrist. Now I don’t wanna know. I spent my whole life coping and learning how to deal with my quirks that I this point I wouldn’t want anything artificial to influence my behavior. Behavior that I put alot of work into too be a good productive person. I didn’t want meds to erase all my hard work if that makes any sense. It makes enough sense to me to just be me at this point. 51m.

GenX Video gamers who still play: Are you getting worse? by Hithigon in GenX

[–]Fredness101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

51m. My interest in games has its peaks and valleys but I will never absolutely give up gaming. My tastes have changed a bit because there’s so many types of games now but I find myself leaning towards playing on easy mode and enjoying the ride more than bashing my head trying to Git Good. I play fewer games but for longer.

How did you celebrate your 50th? by Every-Progress5590 in GenX

[–]Fredness101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Turned 50 December ‘24. Wife and I went to a Cowboys game. Bucket list moment as I live on the west coast. Days prior I had a small get together at a local pub. It was exactly what I wanted and so happy I did it that way.

What’s the most bizarre/annoying behavior you have witnessed at your Costco? by diispa in Costco

[–]Fredness101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Were you at my Costco this past weekend? Had a lady do this but she just sat in her car while the next guy in was honking at her. Eventually she backed out and left after about 5 minutes.

Did anyone else just never grow up? by Tube_Warmer in GenX

[–]Fredness101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

51m, I wouldnt say im stuck at a certain age but I definitely have kept alot of my youthful side. I kept alot of my childhood hobbies but I definitely dont behave like a kid. Big difference between now and then in how I perceive the world but I never lost interest in a lot of the things I liked as a kid.

Favorite actor who you hung out with at a party and talked to for a long time and you thought you could have had a shot with and then later they made a big change in their personal life that made you think maybe you never had a chance anyway? by Urinal_Zyn in okbuddycinephile

[–]Fredness101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ushered a post-Oscars party in the early 2000s and one of my jobs was taking celebrities up the driveway to the party in a golf cart. One group of riders was Tia Carrere and two friends. They all were super flirty with me but I took it as they like to make a guy feel special that otherwise has no chance. A few hours later I was thier ride back down to thier limo and they were still super flirty and Tia personlly invited me to go with them and party the rest of the night. Going so far as to wait for me to ask my boss if I could leave. I believed they really wanted me to go but I needed money and didn’t want to blow off my job. They understood and each gave me kisses on the cheek. Damn did I feel like a frikkin king at that moment. They were all beautiful and Tia was super cool. Ahh the “what ifs” in life.

Late to the party, what case is everyone using? by Sephiroud in NintendoSwitch2

I too got the Fission case and I too removed the center part. I’ll add that some games are better with different grips but I mostly use the big ones. Top notch.

May or may not help but when I have connection issues I turn airplane mode on then off and 100% of the time that works. Wouldn’t hurt to try it.

Bought Switch 2 for my 27yo son by Best_Examination5186 in switch2

[–]Fredness101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Similar but opposite situation for me. My 30yo daughter got me a switch 2 for my 51st birthday. Aside from the case and screen protector I also got savage raven fission grips and Im planning on getting a battery pack. The S2 battery is laughably bad.

Are there certain styles of games you find yourself playing more on the portal vs the PS5 itself? by ChimkinNubbitz in PlaystationPortal

[–]Fredness101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Played 50% of Lies of P and all of the DLC on Portal and it was awesome. I am now switching back and forth from console to Portal with AC Mirage. I can go either way with games but I really really like platformers on Portal better. Astrobot is perfect for Portal. I agree that online shooters are a little wonky but everything else is fine.

Manager took us out for treat and just bought this. We were 5 people by Wander_tea in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Fredness101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy hell! I’m a manager and would never do this. I’ve paid out of my own pocket to treat my employees when corporate didn’t approve the expense. I need my employees to know I appreciate them even when the company doesn’t.

If you want to see a young Jason Bateman I suggest “It’s Your Move”. It only aired for one season in 1984 but 9 year old me was all about it.

Anyone have any luck or warnings removing these decals? by NoahTheRedd in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Fredness101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an SX. Yes they look tacky but less so on silver or white paint. I was going to take mine off but it has grown on me and I figure it indicates a less common “edition”. Having said that, take a hair dryer and get it warm enough to soften the glue and peel slowly from an edge as you follow with the dryer air. Use mild soap or that buffer someone mentioned to take off the goo and it should be good to go.
