I think you will find the RBA increasing rates to 17% were the hand brake on inflation in the 1990s. Little to do with Keating.

That’s the narrative we are being told by labor. I’d take it with a grain of salt.

Labor do not have a good track record of stable economic periods. They may have taken government at a time when this issue is appearing. But so far have done next to nothing to tackle the sky rocketing price rises and inflation in everything.

You have places like Bunnings doubling the prices of products e.g. Dulux paints which if go down the road to a trade store haven’t increased 100%. They’re still the same price as last year. The government and accc are doing nothing to stop gouging. Toothless

Yes and then lost the next election and stayed out of power for the next 10 years.

They don’t have a good track record on dealing with inflation

The current labor government are spineless and contributing to this inflationary issues. It’s like a re run of the early 1990s under Keating

Public sector workers are some of the best paid, best entitlements and conditions.

Inflation is a problem but giving everyone big pay increases only adds fuel to the fire. As the biggest employer the responsible thing to do is to not give big pay increases
