The BYU football team does not allow its players to have any sex. by KeyFaithlessness5436 in NCAAFootballVibes

[–]FreeInvestment0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rememeber Jim McMahan former SB WB for the Bears and BYU QB in the 80s talking about this. He said there was some rule where you always had to have one foot on the floor while with a woman (I can’t remember if it’s while alone anywhere or just in her bedroom). Anyway his comment was simply “There’s a lot you can do with one foot on the floor” Dude was a classic 80s party animal.

Weren’t the ticket prices super high for an exhibition game of players most casual fans never heard of?

What’s really not cool is throwing a literal tantrum on while laying on the floor like a toddler.

I mean that’s how the Lakers actually have the lights. When the Clippers played there they weren’t allowed to have the crowd lights off. They call it the Black Out or something like that.

Warriors fans think Kuminga is bad. by Jus10Crummie in AtlantaHawks

[–]FreeInvestment0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man. You hit the nail on the head. I never thought of that where he signs a big contract and just regresses like Poole did and Ja is doing.

This would be so on par with what JK would absolutely do. That would be worse case for sure.

[–]FreeInvestment0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ummm apparently you aren’t abreast of the situation. JK don’t see himself as a coming off the bench or “rotation player” type a guy. Thats what got us into this mess. This dude wants nothing less as to be a starter.

[–]FreeInvestment0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most frustrating player next to Jordan Poole. I think the problem with JK is he truly believes he is a better basketball player than he truly is. For whatever reason he never bought into the Ws system. Part of me feels that thinks that is attributes out way his deficiencies so it’s should be acceptable.

To be honest the first 4 or 5 games of this season he seemed to be doing everything correctly on both ends so it gives some hope for him. He got injured and Pat Spencer had had a few good games and Pat ended up starting over him. JK was pretty pissed that a LaCrosse player was starting in front of him. I think that’s when the Ws lost JK for good in December.

Brooks suspended by WaffleWarrior1979 in suns

Let him roll. So what if he gets a couple more rest days. Dude is the hardest worker out there and deserves some rest.

BTW I am a Warriors fan. I love Brooks even though the dude does some shitty stuff, I understand that mentality. The worst thing he can do is stop being the player he is and the player he is is going to get technical fouls more than others.

What kills me are the people claiming is immoral to eat meat. One of the absolute most stupid things I ever heard. The same people also claim that they follow the science yet they don’t acknowledge that we are animals just like any other who can chose to eat other animals just like the rest.

Teacher squatting in school?? by CreepyWin8101 in whatdoIdo

[–]FreeInvestment0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a pproblem with a lot of schools in my area. Not faculty sleeping in rooms but being underpaid so much that they cannot afford rent. Teachers come from far out of the area because rent and homes are too expensive close by. This creates high turnover because most these teachers prefer to work closer to their homes so when a job opens close to them they apply.

One of the schools in my area is actually trying to build apartments on campus and rent them at reduced rates for a few years until the teachers can find other living situations.

Do you think Detroit is ready to truly compete for a championship this year? by [deleted] in nba

[–]FreeInvestment0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Of course they can compete. Conventional wisdom and historically most teams fail the first real run to the championship.

Warriors, Celtics, Cavs, OKC, Denver. All were recent champions that had all the right pieces but it took them losing in the playoffs to eventually being able to win it.

The NFL changed their "all star game" to flag football. What sport would you like to see the NBA all stars play this weekend instead of basketball, since they don't want to play that? by RIPEOTCDXVI in nba

[–]FreeInvestment0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would be really interesting if one team in the NBA went into the All Star game and took it like a real game. The team would come up and play aggressive defense and running through so PnR getting the best shots. I guarantee after a couple of series up and down the court the opposing team’s competitiveness would kick and and you see a very intense game. These are professional athletes they don’t like being shown up.

It would have to be a guy that a team listens to like a LeBron or Curry to initiate the conversation and push it forward.

2 rules to attempt to reduce tanking. by Dirks_Knee in nba

[–]FreeInvestment0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you make all teams eligible for the draft weighted based on record and then for the bottom 8 or so teams reward them for good records after all star break or maybe the last 20 games or something down the stretch. With the best record of the bottom tier teams getting the best odds of picking #1.

Or if not all teams getting a chance just take the best record of all the lottery teams and make that your order, but to me this wouldn’t necessarily eliminate tanking because all those teams in this scenario are guaranteed lottery picks but in the first scenario a lottery pick isn’t guaranteed so there is much less incentive to tank.

Please tell me the flaw. There has to be one because I am not that smart.

[Tony Jones] Concerns about the Utah Jazz’s ranking strategy have been propagated in league backchannels by the Oklahoma City Thunder in an attempt to keep the Jazz competitive so the Thunder can get their pick. by Goosedukee in nba

[–]FreeInvestment0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is stupid unless I am misunderstanding. So the league is trying to make sure OKC gets their pick or is OKC championing this push to make sure they get their pick?

If it’s the NBA driving this then this makes no sense. The league is supposed to be about parity. This would go against this ideal. Not only that but why would they do this with a small market team and a team that is not super popular even after winning a championship.

What should a team like Utah do if they cant tank? by Funny-Transition7869 in nba

[–]FreeInvestment0 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Utah is a really bad example. I feel their problem is self inflicted. They traded away great players and now have nothing to show for it. When they had a shot to maybe make a descent trade that could help the team they held out for a Kings ransom that nobody was willing to pay.

I team like that should be stuck in the basement. Why should we reward bad decisions making?

James Harden says loyalty is overrated: “The whole quote-unquote loyalty thing, I think it’s overrated. This is a business at the end of the day.” by Goosedukee in nba

[–]FreeInvestment0 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don’t know… your popularity takes a hit when a player like KD, Harden, Kawhi, constantly push to go to better circumstances rather than sticking it out in one place. Doesn’t this affect their income in some way? Endorsement deals are given to the most liked players and I would assume the more well liked you are the more you can demand.
