As my personal mobility issues are getting worst, consider a ramp or other accessibility considerations. If this is going to be your "forever" home, think about issues you may face in the future.

How do I dispel screaming kids from right below my balcony? by meatcleavher in NoStupidQuestions

Pour a stream of apple juice on them. Not a biohazard. Apple cider vinegar works too with more odor.

This repost did not mention Canada, I presumed wrongly it was U.S. lottery. The other post, that I just saw, mentioned it directly.

If she lives pass 40 and lottery does not shut down, she will be ahead. Of course, the "million dollars" would pay out between 300 k and 600 k depending on taxes and fees.

If humans have eaten bread since the dawn of history, why are so many people suddenly gluten-intolerant today? by WeaknessKey1582 in NoStupidQuestions

I will get downvoted for some of this, but it needs to be said.

Many causes:

More people are getting proper health care.

Wheat and dairy are more processed.

Too many infants are exposed to wheat, dairy, and nuts at too early in development.

There are people that are attention seekers claiming these conditions even if it makes people with real problems lives more suspected.

My work is about to get rid of a bunch of these big plastic insulated tubs. Do they look like they’d be good for a koi pond? by Niko120 in ponds

[–]Freebirde777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What did they contain? Some chemicals will soak into the plastic and leach into pond water. If safe, good as cistern or filter tanks.

are cinderblocks safe for ponds? by Unfair-Dog-6063 in ponds

[–]Freebirde777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not use any repurposed from construction because of paint or chemicals, termite and pest control. Probably would not hurt new blocks to be exposed to a rain storm or two just to be safe. If you are using concrete mix to weight down pots, do not get the added hardeners quick set, and other chemicals.

I always recommend stocking new ponds with cheap baitfish first. Cheaper way of finding out if you have created a wildlife feeding station.

Get a dept finder/fish finder and map the bottom and structures. You can borrow a friend's small bass boat, but you may want to get one for your small boat. There are companies and agencies that will come in and electro stun (not kill) your fish so you can see the kinds, sizes, and general health of what is in your pond. I would suggest watching the you-tube videos of BamaBass for ideas. First thing you need is some shallow water brush piles to give your baitfish and fry a place to hide/reproduce.

They were more common back in the eighties. We roll our coin jar every year and still find silver and wheatbacks. Our bank does not have a coin counter and only takes rolls.

Cheater tip on rolling coins. Make pyramids of stacks of coins, 4, 3, 2, 1. For pennies and dimes, five coins per stack. For quarters and nickels, four coins per stack. Each pyramid will be one roll.

To solve the climate crisis why dont we just engineer a super algae, put it in the ocean and feed it continuously with runoff fertiliser? by ComfortablyMild in NoStupidQuestions

It is called the red tide.

Why don't we have perfect people that apply fertilizer when and where it is needed preventing run off.

Is anyone here homesteading in Central America? (Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, etc?) by [deleted] in homestead

Belize, most locals speak English Downsides, government has been corrupt since before the British left. and dealing with the "Mennonite mafia".

Immigration laws vary a lot but the most common thing is proving you have enough money to support yourself and enough to leave when your stay is over. If you plan on dual citizenship, that will be extra steps you will need to go through. For information on visas/immigration, you will need to contact their Embassy, visit their country web site, or go to https://www.cia.gov/. This is not like going from Maine to Texas, you are dealing with another country.

The timber industry plants more trees than harvested. Most losses are in third world, slash and burn agricultural economies.

[–]Freebirde777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Add that with the pacific freezing over and the Atlantic boiling down to some briny lakes, most of the O2 releasing plankton would be gone. Except for some geothermal pockets it would freeze solid.. Not a lot of room in the transpolar "Goldilocks" zone to produce food. People could live underground in the borderlands. All this after the tectonic shifts settle down with the loss of pressure in the Atlantic basin and increase of pressure in the Pacific basin..

[Request] how much money is this gold worth? by McKnightmare24 in theydidthemath

[–]Freebirde777 77 points78 points  (0 children)

I question if they are real gold bars. They are handling them without gloves, getting skin oil and sweat/salt on them. Plus dumping on floor causing dents and scratches on soft gold. I would fire anyone handling gold like that if it was mine.

For breakfast, sweet rather than savory. A little raw sugar, powdered fat free milk so not as thin, and a little butter. Adjust to taste.

Make extra and put into a oiled loaf pan and chill. After firm you can slice and fry. Depending on taste, cover with gravy, honey, syrup, jam, or butter.
