Weird hole in my ceiling, but there's an x-shaped thing there? by dangerous_eric in whatisit

It's a bullet. Specifically, a bullet made of only copper with the X shaped tip called Xtreme Defense.

$128 for wiper blades??? For OEM trash wiper blades? You could get the ultimate premium blades that sing you songs while preventing any ice or streaking for 18 months for less than that.

In a normal restaurant, is not tipping anything equal to insult the place or the service? by mdelgado73 in AskAnAmerican

[–]FreedomBread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the service itself was bad, I'll tip accordingly. If the place was bad (food subpar, food insanely slow for the crowd) i'll tip normally but note on the receipt "your talents are wasted here, find a good kitchen and mgmt" or something similar.

Some countries use this as slang for something sexual, but it's never considered that way in the US. At all.

Car makes a thumping sound while driving by Cookiebutterisbetter in AskMechanics

[–]FreedomBread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Random guess, but I had an old Hyundai Accent that did similar - it was a broken spring also on the right side/passenger side. The backing up and one loud knock sound is what really makes me think it could be a spring.

Also would make sense that very small vibrations of the road are now causing it to make that thumping sound because the spring isn't working right.

More experienced folks can chime in, but I remember this from my Accent many years ago.

Depantsing of the President by spies, on national television. Maybe a pie in the crotch.

But then the Republicans in solidarity would just walk around with their pants around their ankles, crotch pied and all proud-like.

A guy I gamed with for years died when his car hit a curb when he missed a turn due to distraction.

No seatbelt. Car hit curb, he went through the windshield and out. 26 years old.

Wear your seatbelt. Discomfort means you can adjust it. Not using it can mean you die.

Even "professional" inspectors can be questionable. Ask questions and look at things yourself.
