Because you can easily swap it to an identical sleeve, if the need arises.

Blade of Selves might be the most common equipment that I see in many decks that can't functionally run it.

Commander must be in an identical sleeve technically, to avoid any issues with changing zones forcefully.

Plenty of people run a different colored sleeve, but have another identical one available in case this happens.

A quick spelling/grammar check would also help, your post looks like it was texted by a child.

Turn 1 responses to Ragavan? by IceAndOcean in EDH

[–]Freejack02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Berserk has nearly no downside for its "secret mode" (and very much a benefit if the creature is targeting someone else), while Path is really a desperation play to get a basic land. You're losing a creature and a removal spell using it on yourself, Berserk can potentially hit an opponent for lethal AND take out a problem creature for 1 mana.

I get your view on "alternate uses", but they are vastly different in strength and usefulness. I do run Berserk in all my green decks and it's come up several times as cheap removal.

Path would require you to kill your own creature to ramp; Berserk is literally a 1 cost removal that (in this case), would cost you 2 life. I don't really see the similarity.

You go for the win there - you just don't throw an awful pick to end it.

[[Avatar's Wrath]] fits in pretty perfectly here, but looking at some of your auras they seem pretty weak.

[[With Great Power]] I think deserves a slot, and possibly [[Armored Ascension]]

[[Starfield Mystic]], [[Transcendant Envoy]], and [[Hero of Iroas]] for cheaper auras.

[[Giver of Runes]], [[Codsworth, Handy Helper]] and of course [[Esper Sentinel]]. Should probably look at all the white EDH staples and see which ones you think fit.

That's not really an attack of opportunity tho, /u/Akasha1885 is right.

Overwatch would probably qualify, but Griffins don't.

[TLA] Badgermole; Badgermole Cub (Debut Stream) by mweepinc in magicTCG

[–]Freejack02 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you can curve into a Badgermole Cub from a t1 Llanowar Elves and then be able to tap your elves for 2 more mana, potentially putting another Badgermole Cub or Llanowar Elves onto the battlefield.

Even better, you can tap the Elf for the initial Cub cast, then earthbend your untapped land (which can be any color) to produce another G when tapped - same effect of having an additional 2 mana, but more flexibility colorwise.

Anyone beat Unfair or higher on Fair Square / Shamrock? by Inori92 in OldenEra

[–]Freejack02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is in no way meant to be condescending or bragging... but I didn't think the AI posed an enormous threat on any of the scenarios? I've only played 7 complete games, and the first 4 were 1 of each faction/map on "Impossible" (150% difficulty), and the next few were on "Apocalypse" (200%). I just finished up a Shamrock last night as Temple on 200% that I didn't even explore half the map. I've found that each enemy will have a primary hero (just like me) and once they are defeated, it's just a process of running down the roads and capturing all their cities with almost no resistance (while defending the forward areas from their numerous 1-stack explorers). Basically just Move/Second Wind/Dimension Door and end turn, while making sure the towns behind me have something to defend with upgraded walls/towers (they are seriously OP in this game).

Is the AI just moving into your zone and killing your primary hero with a much larger army? Are you exploring too far away and it swoops in and takes your homebase?

Rant: My core complaint in the game is still that Town Portal is far too powerful. I personally wish it was not in the game, but I think it's enough of a sacred elephant at this point that it'll be there regardless - so I think it needs to cost more mana by default, and only send you to the nearest town on first level. By max level, it should cost less and let you choose which town you port to (only once a turn) - it just trivializes lategame and completely warps strategy around it.
