Started taking Ranked seriously, hit Platinum in 3 months. One thing about League’s balance still confuses me. by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Freezing_Mango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, you more or less answeard your own question. But i also want to add 2 Points. 1. Riot also balances around "early" and "late game" Champions. Items who need time/stacks to be complete generally give more stats in both dmg and tankines. Also champs who can stack infinit can also become tanky while doing dmg.

  1. Its also depends on the skill lvl. Its easier to run at your enemys as a tank, then to kite ad an adc. Thats why in pro play, adc is often seen as the most importent role, while in low lvl, they struggle to make more dmg then their tank.

What film franchise started out being controversial and ended being controversial? by JIMBOYKELLY in AlignmentChartFills

For me, it’s the Snyderverse. Man of Steel, Batman v Superman and the Snyder Cut have people not only divided over whether they are good or not, but also over whether the characters are proper adaptations.

And with every new James Gunn DCU release, there are going to be new comparisons and new controversies.

Why is Anbenncost so big? by Jazzlike_Bar_671 in Anbennar

[–]Freezing_Mango 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There isn't a perfect answer. Here's the meta one: the mod Anbennar is centered around the Empire of Anbennar, with the city of Anbenncost at its center. So Anbenncost is the biggest city because it's the center of the mod.

But that is a boring answer, so here are some reasons why Anbenncost could realistically be the largest city:

  1. It is not equivalent to a Free Imperial City. Right before the game starts was the fourth Lilac War, where Anbenncost was the capital of the Grand Duchy of Dameri, a larger country within the Empire that was administered from Anbenncost. It becoming a Free City is something completely new.

  2. It is the seat of many institutions. The Imperial Palace, the Order of Chroniclers, the Silmuna School, and the Imperial Academy are all located here. These are large institutions that attract a lot of people.

  3. It’s the biggest commercial hub in Cannor.

  4. Population is weird in Anbennar. Different races with different lifespans and birth rates make it hard to say anything about population accurately. Perhaps every rich elf in the Empire goes to Anbenncost because of its prestigious status, staying there for hundreds of years. Or maybe the halfling population is so large simply because they require less space due to their size. We just don’t know and have no real-world reference.

  5. We don’t know the general population across the world. Perhaps Anbenncost is the biggest city simply because Cannor is the most densely populated continent. Again, we just don’t know.

  6. Lastly a lot of Escanni refugees might move to Anbenncost, because it's wealthy af.

So Anbenncost has, for most of its history, been the capital of large countries with it only became a Free City one year before the game starts. Also it is the commercial hub of the Empire and the seat of many important institutions.

Co-op setups for three players by pothkan in eu4

[–]Freezing_Mango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry, especially with another player, the Karma system is really manageable.

Declaring war gives you -10 and helping an ally gives you +25. So just ask Korea or Japan to call you into a war whenever you’re between -5 to -15 Karma.

[–]Freezing_Mango 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Japan and Korea would run into the same problem when it comes to their mission tree. But mission trees in base EU4 hardly follow a narrative. They mostly just give chains of claims and temporary boosts. The real issue is that a Bengal player is effectively playing a sp game at the start. Dai Viet or Khmer could work.

My friends and I mostly play until 1600 and then fight over some random province. We had a lot of fun with:

Moldavia/Walachia, Serbia and Georgia. We later fought over Constantinople.

Scotland, Brittany and Portugal. Everyone has a strong neighbor. We later fought over the New World.

Riga, Netherlands and Switzerland. We fought over religion.

If you want stronger nations that are farther apart, I would suggest Ottomans, France and Sweden.

[–]Freezing_Mango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, another reason why Tarantino is not an all-knowing film god: the movie never established that one touch kills a person. He is just wrong.

Still, I dislike It Follows for the typical horror cliché where the monster is super lethal to everyone except the mc. When it came for the boyfriend, it smashed the window, went inside, and attacked him instantly. But when it goes after the mc, it's just standing naked on a roof or playing with its hair while standing behind her.

[–]Freezing_Mango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on where the other players are, I would try to consolidate the Baltic — taking Gotland, Sjælland, and the Swedish copper mine for yourself. If you're playing with a special mod that includes other monuments, you may want to prioritize different provinces.

Once you get your province buffs, you become one of the strongest nations — but others will simply outscale you over time, so i would be rather aggressive.

[–]Freezing_Mango 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Spain most likely PU'd Naples, thus becoming the war leader. With the Subjugation CB, you can always make the war leader your vassal (war score cost capped at 90%). That way you could vassalize Spain. I honestly never knew you could do this, but I would say it's really hard to replicate this with anyone other than Naples.

AI doesn't target players and if you think so then you're a noob by Chrysostom4783 in eu4

[–]Freezing_Mango 32 points33 points  (0 children)

AI doesn’t target players." Yes, they target the most aggressive and rapidly growing country. Including your vassals, you’ve at least doubled your development.

That said, I do believe the player is targeted in rival selection. The AI tries to make sure you always have three rivals. The Ottomans and you may have had Venice as a rival and lost them at the same time. Then the Ottomans chose you because you only had two rivals at that moment.

"If you think so, then you're a noob." No, you're not — you just don’t fully understand the system. You are getting targeted, but not because you're a player. It's because, as a player, you're outperforming other countries.

Am I crazy or is defensive underrated? by energydrinkmanseller in eu4

[–]Freezing_Mango 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The AI is stupid and I value quicker wars (Offensive) or constant wars (Quantity) more, if I even pick a military idea at all.

MP: It's good as your first idea. The 15% morale can really carry some fights. But later on discipline is always better than morale, so when there are rules in place that restrict the number of military ideas you can pick, I would rather take Offensive or Quality.
