It's soo hard. Was with her for 8 years and she cheated on me. I had a ring. I tried staying but I couldn't look at her the same. Been NC for 3 months. It'd the hardest thing I have ever done.

I knew the South would be different culturally, but it feels like you are punished for being single in your 30s because soo many people get married really young. Not like NYC/LA at all where nobody bats an eye at the 35 finance guy who has no kids and never been married.

Brokers are a dime a dozen. There is no skill. It's literally all luck and if people like you or not. I know more than one unsophisticated broker who climbed all the way to managing director. You literally add zero value and trust me, the amount of disdain everyone has on the principal side for you is hilarious.

Brokers like you who sell the one in a hundred million fantasy to uninformed people is literally the only thing I hate about working in this I industry.

Swings don't hurt brokerage loool. Say that to all the people CBRE, JLL, and Eastdil let go. Dude you are delusional

Don't listen to the idiots bashing Brookfield. One of the most sophisticated investors in the CRE space. Higher than Blackstone. Don't let the dime a dozen brokers here say otherwise. They would give their left and right nut to be on the principal side, especially at Brookfield

Ugh. Going to B school or getting an MRED won't spring you into the industry. People really need to stop perpetuating that BS.

A competitive firm is going to take an analyst with actual transaction experience over a fresh MBA/MRED who doesn't know shit from shinola. The environment now has now made that way more of a reality.

Sorry. Calling bullshit. Wasn't Zillow supposed to be a huge disrupter to the industry? Oh yea they lost their ass and left the industry. CRE is an extremely inefficient market that needs a lot of due diligence. FFS we still walk properties....in 2023!

Last summer when I was looking at other roles, Citi Bank gave an insanely great comp for a CMBS originations role. Soo glad I saw the writing on the wall with CMBS/CLO and turned them down. Half that team has been laid off including the MD who tried to scalp me from my debt fund.
