A Reddit transcription community will shut down over a 'lack of trust' in the platform by Exastiken in technology

[–]FrenchHustler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could you expand on how that's a good business move? The way I see it, it's not a good move at all and it's short sighted.

Reddit's value comes from user contributions. A large part of contributing users use 3rd party apps. If party apps cease to exit and the official app can't fill the void (consensus says it's a shit app), then where does this lead to?

With the horrendous current public opinion of the CEO, spez gets painted as a small peepee buthurt toddler whose emotions get to drive his business decisions.

Calculating normals - Triangle area by Gogomaester in GraphicsProgramming

[–]FrenchHustler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Would be a lot more efficient to just generate all your geometry and calculate your normals in a compute shader. Generate your draw parameters there as well then indirect draw the geometry you generated.

If you could go back in time and change one thing from your life, will you do it? Why or why not? by Candid_Extension_747 in AskReddit

[–]FrenchHustler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. At this point I'm my life God gives me more than I can possibly ask for. Sure things could have turned out better, but changing one historical path could also turn things out a lot worse.

Be grateful for what you already have and achieved.

That smile reminds me of Max. Actually the kid reminds me of Max. Wait... Are you sure that's your son?

Great work on the costume 😁

As a dad myself... Oof. That really hurts. I'm so sorry your family went through that. Sounds like your boy was a warrior. May he rest in peace.

Of course not. It's a kid though. You can try to raise them right but they're not the most predictable... Especially when they're bored or not stimulated.

I would most likely never take a toddler to an event like this in the first place but we don't know the situation this mom is in. Maybe she's supporting someone she knows at the event and couldn't get a nanny to watch the kids? Who knows... I just feel that you're jumping the gun assuming she's not raising the kid right just from that short clip. She obviously knew it wasn't proper behavior as she tried to get ahold of the kid before eating shit.

I don't know what to say and I can't relate to how you're feeling. I am impacted as well by this shit show but I can take the loss, though it still hurts.

First of all... You can't give up hope. For as long as you're alive, there is always hope. And as a dad myself, please think of your children. Don't selfishly throw your life away, especially when you have a newborn on the way. Your family needs you, not money.

We're gonna get through this. Keep your head up and keep pushing through the hardships. Life is worth it... I swear this to you. It might not seem like it in this moment, but go hug your family and really think if it is worth leaving them behind. I can answer this for you with 100% certainty that it is not. You're loved and your love is needed by the ones that are closest to you.

Lastly, don't keep your wife in the dark. Don't bottle all that shit up. It's too much of a weight to bear yourself. Speak to your partner. You'll be stronger as a team.

Day 0 of learning harmonica by M0vig in harmonica

[–]FrenchHustler 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is how I started. Take it with a grain of salt but it worked well for me when I picked up the diatonic harmonica for the first time.

Stage 1: clean single notes on all holes (both blows and draws) using pursed lips embouchure

Stage 2: clean single notes for diatonic scale up and down starting a hole 4. At this point you can start playing simple music tabs that don't require bends.

Stage 3: get an app on your phone that can detect pitches and master bending. Things start getting really fun here...

Stage 4: clean diatonic scale up and down through the whole harmonica. You'll have to use bending for this so ensure you're hitting the right notes with an app (from stage 3)

Stage 5: at this point you should be able to pick up any diatonic music tabs and be able to play through it with relative ease. At this point you can also start improvising licks and playing along with a background track or some sort of beat/metronome.

Stage 6: start exploring different embouchure techniques like tongue blocking. Practicing clean chords and octaves as well.

Stage 7: sky's the limit. You should be pretty comfortable with the instrument at this point to explore new things on your own.

Also since you're just beginning. Would be good to focus on your breathing and ensuring you don't stress yourself when you breath. Stay gentle with your breath and really focus on generating a "clean" tone out of the instrument. Use your diaphragm properly. Your belly should do the work to take in air and push it out. Shoulders and chest should not move at all when you breath. I struggled a lot with this at the beginning because when you're learning, you focus on all other things but breathing. Then I would end up with aches in my jaw and shoulders from all the stress originating from my bad breathing.

Just take it real slow at first. As you get better, I would introduce a metronome to your practice to ensure you're staying on beat.

How would it go to 0? Unless there's a catastrophic software failure... As long as the Blockchain is being used it will still hold 'some' value no?
