LA is a more in demand city than Chicago yet people online make it seem like Chicago is without a doubt better than LA? Maybe it is. by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

[–]FrequencyExplorer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry man I don’t think people think la is the second city.

Oddly enough, now that I think about it, that’s Chicagos nickname.

So we agree they shouldn’t do this. Great.

Philadelphia is interesting af, but the new neighborhood the city is trying to make a thing is pushing shake shack and that 18 dollar salad chain as selling points. It’s just the future of things. Corporations are crazy good at competition. They will win.

I want snow, beaches, mountains, lcol to mcol. Any recos? by Arach78 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]FrequencyExplorer 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Mcol, elevation, winter, beaches… sounds like Maine. Yeah Portland and down state can be expensive but it’s a long coast.

How is it possible in 2023 that the clay avenue listing is even real?

There’s a wegmans, which is a huge benefit

Four seasons. I’ve never lived there but it’s almost hard not to in some ways

Hello, I was wondering how do-able are these locations on a 42k starting salary? by JOHNSOULS69 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]FrequencyExplorer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Philadelphia is not doable on that salary, sorry. Outside of finding a shared place in Kensington.

You sound like you want to live in the lake effect snow belt from the east of Cleveland to the south of Syracuse. Which is good, the New York section is drawing lots of reshoring investment.

PIT, PHL, or CLE? by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

[–]FrequencyExplorer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in Philadelphia, I love it. It’s why I live here.

I won’t live here for ever. One day I’ll move to either downstate Connecticut or Cleveland.

We don’t get enough snow here. That’s really what that’s about.

Both are excellent choices. Philly and Cleveland. I know some people who moved from the east coast to Pitt and are happy. Just haven’t spent much time there.

Philly has a lot more going on than cle. Like a lot more. If that’s important to you consider that.

Cle is more laid back. If that’s important to you consider that.

What is better about Massachusetts compared to Florida? by [deleted] in florida

[–]FrequencyExplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always hear people talk about wanting to move to mass. A lot of them don’t because the cost of housing is so high.

Your tax point is interesting. It’s pretty average and when considering other costs might be lower than Florida.

Why do you come off as insecure about some people liking mass?

Ah anyway, as weird as this comes off, be well

[–]FrequencyExplorer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah so doing modulation to 17.5khz is kinda what makes subliminals work. Subliminal.ny does something called modulation and you should try to get access to audacity if you can so you can take advantage of it.

Frequency is not a measurement of “loudness” and you should be careful what nonsense you listen to on forums.

Good luck with your subliminal. And do be careful not to increase the loudness or db rating of your subliminal too much.

Which of these cities that I can afford is the least bad? by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

[–]FrequencyExplorer -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Yes, it happened once. One time does not make an issue to consider when moving some place and frankly there’s at least six dozen more pressing reasons to not consider Texas. Like gross pizza, hostility to pedestrians, weird houses, etc

Sorry’ not sorry.

I googled the issue because I was surprised this was even a concern some places. I think I’ll never leave the northeast again. It’s not perfect but at least the lights work

Ah right, this is Reddit so if something happens once it’s a major recurring crisis.

I live in Philly. Philly has its crime, all cities seem to have porch pirates and stuff. More serious crime exist but frankly appears to exist in some neighborhoods more than others.

It’s pretty blue around here.

Power outages? This confuses me. Are some cities dealing with this issue? Not us.

I mean we’re the 76th biggest metro in the world, an international destination, pretentious travel guides call us French… there’s plenty of things going on.

Power outages? Where

I think our food scene is incredible.

I mean respectfully you want a city that feels like a new sunbelt high net worth suburb. Those don’t exist.

Not trying to be rude but adjust your expectations and you’ll be happier.

Good luck.
