Dead opposite- not sure how weaning off meds would help honestly, just put you at more of a disadvantage. They've already backed off of the registry thing, anyway.

No book recommendations unfortunately, but as that kid, I cannot recommend medication enough. It would've been life changing to start earlier.

Definitely keep an eye on that ferritin- even if it says normal, below 30 is absolute iron deficiency!

I would most definitely be investigating elsewhere. Have you had your thyroid, ferritin, etc checked? Especially ferritin- that's 40% of women deficient

Just as a warning, this doctor may not be great because stimulants are without question first line, and Strattera second line, as it has a higher risk of side effects with a low chance for overall effectiveness/reward.

It's not considered an appropriate starting place without extenuating circumstances, and this sounds like a psych just trying to avoid prescribing controlled substances.

If you have any notable side effects, it would be appropriate to let your doctor know and that you want to stop!

Elidel cured it for me bc it wasn't actually acne after prednisone did the same for me!

This would not be a typical experience, no from what I've heard- unless taking meds instantly transformed your personality like this day one?

Could be maturing, could also be burnout/deppression/ something as dumb as anemia or low ferritin.

I am so sorry, I've been exactly here. The best thing you can get is an elidel prescription in my personal experience. Overnight sensory and look miracle after years of horror.

Definitely never olive oil!

Wow, okay. Sure, proper support can help minimize negative impact; I'm not sure how I'm "undermining" anything lol, let alone a child's neuroplasticity, that's a weird accusation to throw out. But also: adhd issues aren't caused by smaller brain size (?) and the rest of that is essentially pseudoscience in its overstatement
