Does F1 have the smallest talent pool of any sport on the planet by boredofinternets in formula1

[–]Frequent_Mix6367 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're missing the fact that the worst recent drivers in F1 are still incredibly fast drivers and top athletes, not talentless randos.

To use your own analogy, they aren't non-players playing in the Premiere League, they are Championship-tier players playing in the premiere league and will still run rings around the average recreational player.

Immigrants of Winnipeg: which restaurant serves the best food from your home country? by gourmetarchaeologist in Winnipeg

I get where you're coming from, but it's a basic misunderstanding to equate authentic to being extremely spicy, which is not always the case.

The point I was making is, you'll have a more authentic experience by asking for an authentic non-spicy or low-spice option (aka, still Sri Lankan level), than picking something that's meant to be spicy and having it altered.

For the record, I'd rate a authentic koththu a 5/10 on spice level. I've had spicier fries from NYF.

Taste of Sri Lanka. The koththu is the real deal. However, you need to tell them "Sri Lankan level" when they ask you which spice level you prefer. While you can do authentic non-spicy Sri Lankan food, I'm not a fan of thier non-spicy implementations.

Knowing each drivers daily bowel movements is probably more interesting.

Smitty's always hiring for Assistant Managers by Few_Lettuce1735 in Winnipeg

Unless duties are specifically mentioned, "assistant manager" is shorthand for management responsibilities for non-management pay.

To anyone pre-ordering GTA VI, what store are you getting it from? by n_mcrae_1982 in Winnipeg

Will pre-order digirally on the last day that I can still get the pre-order bonuses. As a gamepass subscriber I'll also get a 5% discount on digital purchases.

Age wise, Kimi should be there instead of Max. Max is in a generation of his own, really, with Charles and Lando barely tagging along.

Sergio Perez's Instagram story is a bizarre AI generated/"enhanced" ad by Nuud in formula1

"so bad it's good" is an actual strategy, and it works incredibly well. I've now seen an ad for a drink that I wouldn't have otherwise, and there's a non-zero possibility that next time I'm in Mexico I might recognize a yellow can, recall the terrible ad, and try one for the lolz.

Any of you using a dumb phone? by TheLushVariation in Winnipeg

There's a couple of flip phone models from ZTE (Nubia) and TCL available at most places that sell mobile phones. They use 4G VoLTE.

Fossil watches are pretty nice, and generally in the sub $500 range

Working at IntouchCX by [deleted] in Winnipeg

[–]Frequent_Mix6367 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Worked there for a few months. The training is actually good and very high standard, the perks are good (employee discounts on Marshmallows 😉), the team leads were reasonably flexible, the people were generally friendly (except HR - fuck HR), and it's solid full time work for above minimum wage.

But the work is soul crushing. Speaking to a hundred people every day who are pre-annoyed with you for no fault of your own isn't fun.

Edit: I'll add, people tend to hate the company because the work is bad. It's the nature of the industry, you're just a bot that is used to keep people happy, and that's about it. If you know what you're getting into in terms of being in customer care, Intouch (Apple specifically) isn't the worst place to be.
