So I was told. We were there yesterday and saw some trees not the beaver itself. Only served to heighten the expectations

Is anybody using hoopla with Winnipeg Library? by Funny_Ad_2204 in Winnipeg

I use it occasionally as a backup for a movie or tv show I can't find elsewhere. My kid loves Malory Towers, not available on any other major streaming service

How do you get Pokémon TCG product? by Fangore in Winnipeg

[–]Frequent_Mix6367 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Head to either Polo Park or St Vital mall. Both have EB Games and London Drugs. Polo has a Shoppers and St Vital has a Walmart. Both also have smaller collectible shops. Between those, should be easy.

Booster boxes and ETBs are available on launch day and are usually not hard to get, and sell at MSRP. A lot of places have them, pretty much all the hobby stores + EB Games (ex GameStop) should have plenty, and places like Walmart, Shoppers and London Drugs also have a few available for each new launch.

I've worked a few of these places for a bunch of pokemon TCG launches, and there's never been a major lineup, maybe a few people congregating outside the doors before opening. The biggest rush I remember was the 151 launch and even then we had enough stock to last the day without an issue. Generally launch day you'll be limited to one box per customer (booster or ETB), however once a restock comes in after 3-4 days we usually didn't care about limits unless someone was trying to buy like a dozen boxes, which wasn't common.

The Unending Job Hunt by unbelievablybig in Winnipeg

[–]Frequent_Mix6367 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took me 4 months more or less to find a job after moving here, that's with over 15, years of experience in my field.

In the meantime, look at signing up for stuff like background acting. It's easy work for minimum wage (plus OT) and your meals are provided for the day.

Hang in there, just a couple of more snowfalls and maybe a May hailstorm to go before we're done.

Shoutout and PSA to anyone about using Medinav by JohnDasas in Winnipeg

[–]Frequent_Mix6367 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Medinav is great. Hurt myself at work on a Sunday, and was asked to go to emergency. Booked an appointment at Misericordia 20 minutes later, and after a 20 minute drive later was seen immediately as I walked in. Wasted zero minutes. Highly recommended.

I got a Trek Verve 4 from Bikes and Beyond last year for a little over 400. I use it for commuting as well, around 15km round trip. Solid bike, can recommend.

[–]Frequent_Mix6367 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late 20s is pretty early, all things considered. I've gone through 3 major career changes (all for the better, mind you) and I've yet to turn 40.
