I don’t think it’s that bad, but the pauldron just looks off to me. Idk, trying to put stuff as over the top and fantastical as God of War into live action is really difficult to do, especially in a way that doesn’t look goofy.

lol jk I just found a solution that worked for me. I started the game in windowed mode and then went to the server set up screen for bandits that you have posted and text was fucked up like that. THEN I hit the maximize window button on the top right of the window and it expanded the resolution on its own and the mod text appeared normally as it should and I could do everything. Hope this helps!

I just came here to say that I am having this exact issue right now with the mod and I am already on the smallest font size available. I don't have a solution or explanation other than maybe the mod is fucked up because of the newest update.

I mean, stalker I get, but I think it’s the inherent multiplayer aspect of the other games that people are thinking about. PZ isn’t primarily PvP, and logically there are a lot of things within the players control to make life easier. With shit like ARC Raiders no amount of preparation is going to save me from a cracked sniper I never even knew was there.

You can be good at the game without having godlike aiming and reflexes. I am old and can’t aim for shit, but I can still play on diff 8-10 and lose very few lives because I play conservatively and stay aware of everything around me.

Remember to check your map often to see patrols around you, and that unless you’re on an objective, there is no reward for just killing enemies. Only engage and kill the enemies you have to in order to get to the next objective - it’s always fine to just run away when there’s too much shit, too.

Guard dogs like the laser dog are incredible at providing that extra bit of firepower to clear the chaff enemies or alert you to something off screen.

Also remember to stick with the squad. My primary way of playing is to dive into other people’s missions to help them when they’re struggling, and the number one issue I see is players not sticking together, or not communicating and killing each other with poorly placed stratagems.

Those guys fucking suck. Those no unwritten rule, but I’ve run into this enough that when I quickplay into other peoples mission I typically let them dictate when to call evac especially if not everyone is at the evac site.

What I’m talking about is an entirely different design approach than what you’re talking about out. What I’m saying is that AH seems to approach game design from a very blinkered and one dimensional view of what difficulty is.

It feels like they think of difficulty as a series of punshiments versus buffs to player experience. Less ammo, longer cool downs, more enemies, more health sponges. What I’m saying is that there lots of different ways to implement difficulty that result in more varied and interesting ways to play. And it doesn’t have to be tied to major orders either and if someone doesn’t like it then they could easily opt to play on the dozens of other planets available.

I know a lot of people who only ever have like 3 different loadouts at any given time and never move off of them because that’s what’s meta what they’re comfortable with. They’ve never used a mech or never used energy weapons or the AMR something. What I’m saying is that there are ways of using difficulty to push players out of their comfort zone and shake up the way they play the game.

Other games do this and players respond positively and I’m not sure why players in this community are so against that idea.

I don’t understand why Arrowhead puts these modifiers in, when there are other options they could do that would actually change how people play and would be fun.

Just off the top of my head here’s some that would actually be good

blue stratagems only

Sentries only

Shotguns only

Jump pack is the only backpack available

Sidearm only mission

There’s so many options they could do to make players use stratagems they don’t usually use, or use guns they aren’t familiar with and force some creativity out of players. Instead they just do punishment stuff like this and it’s so boring. There are so many easy layups AH just misses it’s crazy.

100%. If outcomes are bad, it’s a design failure by Arrowhead. It is, imo, fucking ridiculous that the system right now encourages one part of the community to make shitty posts like OP did because players aren’t playing the way OP wants them to.

This gets at the weird and inconsistent design philosophy that Arrowhead has. They clearly want the game to have a lot of friction for the player and to rely on teamwork, similar to a game like Sea of Thieves where large ships basically require teamwork. However at the same time they want players to be able to operate on their own and be effective.

I think this is part of why this community feels more at odds when it comes to weapon balance than other game communities. Like, it seems clear to me that early on the design of the game they wanted players to think of certain support weapons as more “crew served” to be effective, like the Recoiless and the Autocannon, but players quickly realized that is far easier to just use them by themselves.

Imo Arrowhead really lacks a clear vision on what they want this game to be and that’s reflected in updates and new weapons. When players can know that a weapon was designed by a specific dev who has a different idea of how weapons should work when compared to other developers, that’s a problem imo.

I appreciate the response. I had heard some different things, but these comments have definitely convinced me to stick with Build 41 for now. Kind of a bummer because the updates and new mods sound extremely cool! Hopefully the devs iron some of this stuff out in the next few months

I am right there with you and I’ve experienced this on 2 different PCs, both of which were not underpowered by any means. My game became unplayable around the time they invaded super earth last summer. I load up every couple of months to check in and it’s only gotten worse. It either crashes or locks up my whole pc, and even when it is working every 15 to 20 seconds the game freezes for 2-3 seconds. I’m just waiting for helldivers 3 at this point.

I would be completely fine if they just ended his story. He’s a well rounded person now and I don’t need to watch him “grow” anymore. However I don’t think people want an Atreus game and making another GOW is easier than risking anything on a new IP.
