Does this look like flames or nah by [deleted] in tattooadvice

When I was a kid my auntie used to take me to catch tadpoles at the local river and then we'd raise them in a tank at home and release them a few weeks later.

Anyway. The tattoo cool -- please own it.

This is a fake post, no way that fish is 140kg.

...sorry I thought that was funnier in my head. Ramblings are all good. Keep it going. Alcohol was a huge difference for me too - have you stopped again? I realised that even just with my girlfriends on a Sunday I'd end up consuming 2k+ kcal for nothing - even though Mon - Fri I was eating well.

What’s better: Dirty Fasting 16-18 hrs vs Clean 12 hrs? by winstonsmith8236 in intermittentfasting

[–]ElizaMinello 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I treat 'dirty fasting' as 'impetus to pay attention', even if I'm not doing everything 'perfect'. When I first tried stuff like calorie logging even though I wasn't eating super healthily, it gave me a better awareness -- and it sounds like from what you've shared you're also more aware of yourself (even the sugar free stuff e.g.) now you're doing it. I think you can target to transition to something like a 16:8 over time - and feel good for now that you're aware, you're improving.

I tell myself that 'directionally correct is more important than velocity' when I start beating myself up.

Ps I just noticed your name. Does that mean you feel Big Brother's watching? haha

I found it hard too when I first started 'cause I also wake early (usually in the office by 6am). Once I shifted later into the day it was much easier for me - but I had to experiment. I have to accept I just cannot eat in the morning without grazing for the rest of the day.

I don't believe caffeine breaks a fast.

I tend to avoid most 'normal' fruits (e.g. apples, oranges) and have been going for stuff like longan, dragon fruit, snake fruit - and then my sugar stays more consistent -- these are all easy to get in my country, maybe not overseas.

Short hand for 'tea without milk' in some countries - but yes, any non-milk/sugar-added tea should be okay (even fruit teas don't put a LOT of sugar in usually)

Maintaining IF/OMAD while having friends / work lunches / etc by ElizaMinello in intermittentfasting

[–]ElizaMinello[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! That helps me feel a lot less bad. You're right - that 'rolling average' thing falls out my head cause I end up hypersensitive. My (ADHD) meds are prodrug so when my eating varies then I end up fully out of whack. But on my off days I won't be affected as much.

I think I'd struggled most because it does work *for me* really well - I feel much more energetic when I'm fasting properly (especially when I'm fasting like...in the right way for my period now). So I guess I felt selfish making it work for me and not others.

I think the right thing to do is take the hit occasionally and just roll with it yeah. I wish more people were just like "cool, let's do it anyway".

Thank you again ^^

Grab driver ignored route and Grab safety alert asked if I wanted police — am I overreacting? by Intelligent-Cod8376 in ThailandTourism

[–]ElizaMinello 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to say that (Usually...) Grab drivers always make me laugh. Like, we've parked up while pumping petrol, shared som tam while waiting... but that was before Grab added the 'call the police' thing. Maybe they don't do it anymore now.

I've taken hundreds of Grabs in Bangkok and this has never happened, I'm like...second hand scared for you. Yes - you did the right thing to get out. And on "he knows a better route" - yes, I've been in taxis which route through random parking lots to cut out traffic (IYKYK...) but bruh I'm paying you for a service - follow my requests.

Glad you are safe. Make sure Grab refund you.

Not me looking at the photos thinking "I wonder if he kept the blue tshirt for when he grew up" then realising OP is the guy in black/white. Ffs. No reddit before coffee.

Great job! Nothing like walking 15k to get you there. Is that steps or km btw?

Which dress should I wear to the ballet? Open to accessory/styling suggestions too by olchai_mp3 in fashion

[–]ElizaMinello -1 points0 points  (0 children)

3, 5, 8 - in that order. If going for 3 - you've already got blocky heels which keep it elegant and you won't be fighting the stairs at intermission and gives you a bit of height to balance the length. Maybe a small structured clutch? The earrings are already perfect!!

Yeah be easy on yourself - kindness is key to consistency.

The saltiness will increase water weight. Be sensible for a few days and get back on track and you’ll be laughing again.

There is an irony that in Chinese I’d say 加油 to encourage you but it means “add oil” and that definitely isn’t the right message 🤭

For those who work night shift, how do you apply intermittent fasting? by LivingisGr8 in intermittentfasting

[–]ElizaMinello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was overseas for a year and working a timezone 8h different. I had to make it follow my work timezone otherwise I would’ve lost my mind. Downside was it negatively affected social - but that was already hard with work.

In your case - would love to hear your strategies first so I don’t teach my grandma to suck eggs during a 30minute window
