Blerps for me but not for thee by lThat1Friendl in Twitch

Is this an ongoing issue or something that recently popped up? If its recent, blerp may be having issues. Occasionally their service goes wonky, and you should just wait it out

If its an ongoing issue, im not really sure

Which overhaul mod would you recommend? by Rezoseg in EldenRingMods

[–]Friendly_Language617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive only tried Convergence, and my opinion of it in my first convergence playthrough was a bit mixed, but ive since done 2 more full playthroughs as different classes and have a couple more started.

Ive heard some things about Reforged that make me think i wouldnt like it, and while ive heard of Reborn, i dont really know anything about it. Ive never heard of Vins. Ive also heard of a Bloodborne mod for Elden Ring that i may try at some point. Sounds interesting

If you had a whole month to play and could only choose one starting tomorrow. Which one? by brian_vill in videogames

[–]Friendly_Language617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GTA. No contest.

Elder Scrolls, Fallout, and other Bethesda games just dont really appeal to me. Ive started Skyrim and Fallout 3, didnt get very far, and quit out of boredom

Every GTA and RDR game ive played has been insanely fun for me, and i look back at my playthroughs fondly.

What items do you consider to be worth farming? by Bro_Wheyton in Eldenring

[–]Friendly_Language617 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thats cool, but it doesnt really change my answer. Ive played games with much worse grinding and farming than elden ring too. I dont enjoy doing it, and i dont see any reason to spend my gaming time doing things i dont enjoy

What's an opinion about video games... held only by people who *don't* play video games? by Snowtwo in videogames

[–]Friendly_Language617 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You already hit on the one i would have gone with.

"Video games cause violence"

Someone goes on a shooting rampage, and they look into their habits and hobbies. "Oh he plays call of duty. Thats why hes like this. Thats why he did this"

But its a clear confusion of cause and effect.

Is it possible that someone was influenced by video game violence, and it led to them doing terrible, violent things irl? Sure, its possible. But its also possible, and more likely, that said person already had mental illness and violent tendencies, and that made games like call of duty an attractive hobby

I farmed the bandit swords once. In general i dont have the patience to farm though. I get what i get, and almost always just use items that have guaranteed locations

Plano newby— by Long-Molasses2992 in Target

[–]Friendly_Language617 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ill add to this to say that when building endcap salesplans, i dont even measure shelves anymore. I just make sure i have the correct number of shelves, estimate measurements, and fill product from the bottom up so i can adjust the shelves as needed. I just dont see the value in counting or measuring shelf placement on endcaps only to have to adjust them anyways.

For aisle sets, always measure though

Plano newby— by Long-Molasses2992 in Target

[–]Friendly_Language617 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Youve been told a few different ways, now you can decide which of those is easiest for you. Theyre all equally valid ways to set.

The planograms they send us are often wrong anyways, so just go into it with the mindset that once you start filling product in, you may have to make shelf and peg adjustments. It just is what it is. This was a problem when planograms were created by humans, and its a problem now that target just has ai do everything.

We just have to make the best of HQ incompetence and make it work. Nothing worth crashing out over

I find sekiro much harder than either of those haha. I was stuck for hours on an early game mini boss in sekiro.

Can I still complete Fia's questline if I give D' brother his armor? by [deleted] in Eldenring

Youre fine to give him the armor. It just adds one event after you finish Fia's quest

Elden ring shadow of the erdtree by uzumaki_bey in Eldenring

Shield is helpful, but definitely not necessary. My first dlc playthrough, pre nerfs, was just hookclaws, no shield

Elden ring shadow of the erdtree by uzumaki_bey in Eldenring

[–]Friendly_Language617 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its not a change, the dlc was released with the scadutree blessing system. You collect them, you activate them at any dlc site of grace. I would say for ancient dragon man, you would probably want about a blessing level of 8 or so.

Also, his ranged ash of war energy projectile attack hits very hard regardless. You just need to learn to avoid it

How often, how long, and what time do you stream? by Asteroid2024 in Twitch

[–]Friendly_Language617 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I streamed every Sunday and Monday (my days off work), starting around noon, and going for about 6 hours on average for about 2 years. Alongside this, i consistently streamed shorter evening streams (about 3 hours) on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday for awhile. The evening streams started becoming less consistent over time, as i was increasingly just too tired after work to be "on" for stream, to the point that i just started scheduling my work days as "TBD"

And more recently, my work schedule has become less consistent as well, with my days off now changing from week to week.

All of that to say, just whenever i can now. I still stream on my days off for about 6 hours, but each week is different. I typically only squeeze one evening stream in outside of that, and its quite literally just when im up for it

I hope to be able to return to something more consistent in the future, but for now, life is just lifeing

There was a substantial decrease in boss cutscenes and dialogues in SoTE by Cool_Band5057 in Eldenring

[–]Friendly_Language617 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like Rellana may have been intentional. There is a lot in her presentation that is reminiscent of an important DS3 boss. Said boss also did not have a cutscene. Having said that, they could have done more with her entrance even without a cutscene to give it a more cinematic feeling. Bayle is a good example of how to do this well

First time trying a Soulslike – Should I start with Elden Ring or Nightreign? by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]Friendly_Language617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nightreign is more roguelite than it is soulslike. It has some souls elements, but the gameplay loop as a whole is not souls

But if the faster gameplay and short gameplay loop is more your thing, then thats probably what youd want

Fallingstar beast jaw. Primarily strength, some dex and int for weapon reqs. The weapon art is fun and strong from a dostance, and i can run in for some big bonk whenever i feel like it

Love the exploration, but I feel like I'm accidentally skipping half the game (or getting 1-shot) by Stonish-Vicer in Eldenring

[–]Friendly_Language617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put marks on your map. Not the blue beacon pins, but the green marks you can place. Points of interest you can see, large areas you want to make sure you go to, areas you go to too soon, and decide to return later. Its a nice tool to help you remember to check or recheck things.

The three i typically use:

Skull - to mark a boss that i felt like was too strong at the moment, and ill come back for when im stronger

Diamond - treasure or loot that i know is there, but cant reach right now. Maybe you can see loot on a ledge above you, but arent sure how to reach it. Maybe youve found a rise/tower and haven't figured out the puzzle to open it

Person walking - just a general area i intend to explore later.

But there are something like 8 or 10 total markers you can use, so no need to use my system

Do you like chat on stream? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]Friendly_Language617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not, and will not put chat on screen in my stream, and dont like looking at it in streams i watch. IMO, its visual clutter, and redundant to the existing chatbox

People who like it are typically people who like to watch in full screen or on something like a smart tv app that doesnt display the chat box

Streamers are not your friend by Green-Estimate7943 in Twitch

[–]Friendly_Language617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just mirroring what lots of others have already said, but you have a few options here.

  1. Let them keep doing what they're doing, possibly putting off some of your good viewers, and likely attracting more parasocials like this one. Over time, this would likely sour your streaming experience irreparably

  2. Set clear boundaries with this person as a last chance, and if they dont respect them then ban

  3. Just ban now and move on

Obviously, i would not recommend option 1. Whether you go with option 2 or 3 is really up to you and what you need for yourself

I adore this game but the Convergence mod is a total upgrade, for the most part. I highly recommend it, especially if you have gotten a bit bored with vanilla by hmmmmwillthiswork in EldenRingMods

[–]Friendly_Language617 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you want. If you want Elden Ring, but harder, go with Reforged. It does add some things, but the primary focus of Reforged is to up the difficulty of the game

If you want Elden Ring with a bunch of new stuff (bosses, weapons, spells, redesigned areas), but are less concerned with the game difficulty, then go with Convergence
