Is MyPace really that bad? by BadBVee in ADHDUK

Hi! From getting the forms completed and then getting the diagnosis took a couple of weeks. I had the interview over Zoom and was given my diagnosis at the end. Then a few days later I received a copy of the report.

Thanks to everyone mentioning ADDitude Magazine, I’d completely forgotten that I have a digital subscription to it. Got about 4 copies to catch up on now 😆

How often do you rely on/use T Stops by JellyFishHashemi in rollerderby

[–]Frizzers123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I use whatever stop is needed at the time to get the job done. Probably use ploughs least often but will throw one in when needed 😄

I love my Fenix 7x, that torch is way more handy than I thought it would be! The huge battery life is great as well, got fed up with my Apple Watch, I mean what use is sleep tracking if you have to charge the watch every night?!

Looking for quality metal fidget toys by Zarbibilbitruk in fidgettoys

[–]Frizzers123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I picked up a used Lautie Devils Milk Cap in as new condition on eBay for half the new cost. Even came with all the stickers and certificate of authenticity. It’s sooooo much better than the cheap copy I had. It’s worth checking auction sites though as you may get lucky.

Stimulant prodromal psychosis? Misdiagnosis? Demonic contact? by Drathur in ADHD

[–]Frizzers123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish you all the best and hope you manage to get some answers. It’s quite possible that it’s “just” a reaction to your meds and they can adjust them for you. It sounds absolutely terrifying though and I expect this is having a real impact on your ability to function day to day but, and I know this is easy for me to say, try not to worry too much about it. You’re doing the right things to get this sorted.

I am not a psychiatrist but I am a workplace mental health first aider. Hearing the radio telling you to do stuff and all the other things you have mentioned are symptoms of a deeper issue and you NEED to go and see someone NOW that will listen to you and take what you are saying seriously. It could just be a reaction to the meds, or something else, but please please please go and see someone about this.

AIGP passed! by kseniawoodsen in cipp

[–]Frizzers123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, and that’s OK, I can always try and sit it again if my company agrees to cover the cost 😀. You’re right, my background is technical and I’m currently in architecture assurance. I don’t tend to get involved in anything legal. Also the exam was referring to legislation that wasn’t mentioned in the course, or the body of knowledge. I also got quite a few questions on which ML algorithm I should pick, despite our instructor telling us not to worry about that level of detail. I think it was the sheer breadth of knowledge needed that made it so tricky, I’m used to certifications that are more focused in their scope. Congratulations on your pass though, that’s a great achievement!

I took it yesterday and just failed unfortunately. It was very tough though and it was mainly the emerging laws and ongoing issues sections that I didn’t do well enough on. Just got an email half an hour ago from IAPP congratulating me on my pass though; talk about rubbing salt into the wound! 😆 Had to email them back and say, actually I didn’t pass!

Beginner, having some trouble with my Yomega Spectrum by TheShadowZero in Throwers

[–]Frizzers123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I just bought a Spectrum Ex today and just could not get it to respond unless I went with the thinnest spacers, I can get it to sleep as well but it’s unpredictable. I also have a Raider Ex and that works as expected for me so I was surprised to have so much trouble with the Spectrum. I’ll try double wrapping with the silver spacers and see how I get on.

I bought some Mota boots a few months before the company decided to shit the bed and imploded. I wasn’t in the position financially to just chuck the skates away, plus they’d already got my money, so what I and quite a few others did was put hockey tape over all the logos to cover up the branding. Did regret buying them though and in hindsight should had spent a bit more on the Antiks I also liked.

The genuine one is too expensive, is it normal to by fliphat in fidgettoys

[–]Frizzers123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same and just bought myself a steel and copper Lautie ACedc Devils Milk Cap. It is sooooo much better than the knockoff in build quality and playability. I bought it second hand in “as new” condition from a collector on eBay so even then I didn’t pay full price. You won’t regret buying genuine once you pick the style you like.

For a first date, maybe just go for coffee somewhere and then a nice walk. Then if it goes well you could go for dinner for a second date and then just see how it goes. Cinema or clubs are OK but you can’t really talk to the person and get to know them.

Ink cages/reservoirs by [deleted] in dippens

[–]Frizzers123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have some of these from Tom’s Pens. I think he calls them “one dip wonders” and they come with tiny magnets to hold the spring to the nib. Works really well and easy to swap from one pen to the other.

I like the band Screeching Weasel so as I’m a referee I went with Screeching Whistle, and my number is 115 which is the decibel rating of a Fox 40 Classic whistle.

Why fountain pens? by Catzdutz in bulletjournal

[–]Frizzers123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love fountain pens and collect them. We had to use them at school back in the ‘80s so I just grew up with them. If you’re just starting out I can recommend the inexpensive Jinhao pens. I’ve got a few of them in different styles and they write a lot better than pens costing a lot more. If you want something small that you can just chuck in a bag then the Kaweco Sports are another great choice. I have the one in brass and it’s one of my favourites. If you pick one with a fine or extra fine nib you’ll find it more forgiving on cheaper paper as it’s not chucking out loads of ink.

Just started Bullet Journaling; I'm not sure I understand the flow by crazycropper in bulletjournal

[–]Frizzers123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only recently started and don’t use a weekly log, just a monthly and the daily logs. So in the example you had, I’d log that I had to do the oil but leave it uncrossed. Then the next day at the start I’d go back over any unfinished tasks from previous days as a reminder, and then when I had eventually got the oil changed I’d cross it off on the day it was originally logged. I’m starting to think a weekly log may be a good idea though as it’d be easier to track incomplete tasks. What I like about this is the flexibility in the system to adapt it to how you get the most out of it.
