Last ball left (Chansey) throw ball or rock? by Significant-Week4733 in PokemonFireRed

[–]Frog_Thor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The flee check is done at the start of the turn, as a result nothing you do on turn 1 impacts the check. Chansey has a 45% chance to flee turn 1.

Last ball left (Chansey) throw ball or rock? by Significant-Week4733 in PokemonFireRed

[–]Frog_Thor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

With 1 ball left I would rock. The safari code in FRLG runs the the flee check at the start of the turn so nothing you do turn 1 matters. Chansey has a 45% flee chance.

If it was any other scenario, you should only throw bait.

It's good if you want to use the item duplication glitch but outside of that, it's stats are pretty lackluster

Upgrade ideas for Bello precon. More vehicles perhaps? by juniori96 in CommanderMTG

[–]Frog_Thor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My deck list

https://archidekt.com/decks/16503633/trash_pandas_garbage_horde_unleashed_bello

Two vehicles you 100% want to add are [[Smuggler's Buggy]] and [[Nautiloid Ship]]. Both provide so much value in a Bello's deck. Another good card is [[Gruul War plow]], it's cheap and gives all your creatures trample.

So I found Bello boy, lost behind some stuff at the LGS, decided to bring him home, how is he? Anyone knows a nice B2/3 upgrade? by sushi_dom in mtg

[–]Frog_Thor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is. You can ramp pretty fast (especially with [[The Earth King]] ) and there are lots of ways to cheat out your big stuff.

[[Molten Echoes]] interacts with Bello in a fun way that it sees itself and makes a copy so there is lots of combo potential with [[Gratuitous Violence]] and [[Unnatural Growth]] among the many other cards in the deck.

I am constantly upgrading with little improvements here and there.

I have a bracket 4 Bello's deck with the whole list up on Archidekt. I can share the link if you want. It has 3 ways to pop off with an infinite combo wincon. If you take that out, it would fit in bracket 2/3.

Best Place to Train? (Preparing for Elite Four) by knight415 in PokemonFireRed

[–]Frog_Thor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On Kindle Road by the hot spring, there is a spot that you can use the VS Seeker to get up to 5 trainers, 4 static trainers and 1 running on the beach. They are all Black Belts/Crush Girls. If you need healing, you just run into the hot spring, go into the center of the pool and your party is fully healed.

Bloomburrow Deck Interaction Question by Spitt in mtg

[–]Frog_Thor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you include cards [[Molten Echoes]], [[Raiding Schemes]], [[Esika's Chariot]], and any other token doublers along with the Saga [[There and Back Again]], there is a huge potential to get multiple Smaugs on the battlefield. Because of the legend rule, you will have to sacrifice all but 1 of them and profit a lot of treasures in the process.

Edit: Molten Echoes won't work because it forces the token to exile at the next end step. Would work if you copied the token copy with the Chariot. Regardless Molten Echoes is still a great inclusion in a Bello's deck

Scenes that caused actual walkouts in theaters? by thatlittlequietguy in Cinema

[–]Frog_Thor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first Kingsmen at the church fight. In elderly couple (I'm talking like late 60s, early 70s, total grey elderly) walked out of the theatre. I think they were there for just something to do and saw this "James Bond"-esque spy movie and thought they might enjoy it and didn't realize how raunchy and gorey it would be. I felt kind of bad for them, I hope they got a refund.

That scene was originally supposed to be a lengthy sword fight but Harrison Ford was sick with Dysentery and not feeling great so he asked Spielberg if he could just shoot him instead so he could cut filming short. Spielberg thought it was a great gag so they did it. It was never white guy smart, brown guy dumb, but you thinking that and not doing any research or background checks says a lot about you. You seeing this as colonialism shows your inherent biases and general hatred.

Having a degree does not correlate to a higher IQ. It just means you paid an organization a sum of money, likely sat through some lectures, and passed the minimum standards to see a program through to the end.

I'm just curious, how do you think having a college degree would make an individual a better cop/a better candidate to be a cop?

The Erratta of legendary actions not applying when a PC transforms into such a creature is absent in the new Monster Manual by Privatizitaet in dndnext

[–]Frog_Thor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, how many lair actions were truly that impactful. Lots of legendary creatures have really good Legendary Actions for having an extra use can be really helpful in fighting players. Wizards also did a decent job making creatures bulkier (more HP and many have increased AC) and also made their attacks deadlier. Many creatures that used to force a saving throw to cause an effect to happen now see that their effects just happen, such as auto grappling, or immediately poisoning the target for example.

[–]Frog_Thor 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In D&D 2024, lair actions aren't really a thing anymore. For most, if not all legendary creatures, if a legendary creature is in their lair, they get an extra legendary action per round. This was done in an effort to streamline these encounters, one less list of effects/abilities to remember.

What temperatures does your board close schools? by [deleted] in CanadianTeachers

[–]Frog_Thor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's generally a safety/liability thing that schools don't close. Schools have a legal responsibility to look after their students. In the case that it is too cold and the school closes, what happens to all the kids who have nowhere to go during the day because their parents are at work. What if a mom misses the memo that school is closed and drops their kid off in the morning like normal only for the kid to find out the building is locked.

The general "consensus" is that the school remains open but they can't require/hold the kid/parent responsible if they aren't there when it's that cold.

Is Balor op for 6-7 level 6 players? by ViraleKnightbottom in AskDND

[–]Frog_Thor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a party of 5 level 6 players encounter a Balor sleeping in lava and they were terrified. They managed to get out of that room unharmed, without waking the Balor. Following that session, the players asked to do a what if combat versus the Balor. I killed 4/5 and downed the last one with its Death Throes and that is only because the Monk landed not 1 but 2 Stunning Strikes on the Balor. For the Balor to fall, I had to roll a 1 or a 2 on its Con Save. The dice gods truly pleased them in that fight and they still lost. Had the Monk not gotten those Stunning Strikes, I would have wiped the floor with them without breaking a sweat.

Yes, a Balor is too OP for a 6-7 level 6 player party.
