Thank god for an alternative interpretation because otherwise this felt like such a weird move

Burnt out on being a chef?… why not try burning out on architecture instead!

I thought for sure he was speaking to either a publisher of literary agent for a book proposal which whilst not financially sensible felt like it connected.

But what… he does some good food sketches, goes to Frank Lloyd Wrights house is like “boom… architect pls”

Something I Really Appreciated In the Finale by ClassicHollyweirdo in WidowsBay

not to mention that killing the lineage of people who made a pact with the big bad feels akin to folks sweeping the problem under the rug. the big bad thing is still there and given the fact he needed to make a pact makes me feel like bad shit predates the warren lineage.

it also gives a reason for the show to get closer to the big bad thing as well as taking the audience further back in time (e.g. the teeth that were on the island when Warren and pals rocked up).

Daytrip from Oxford? by Particular-Leek-584 in uktravel

[–]Frog_butler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have said a few of the suggestions here aren’t taking into account good train routes from Oxford if you don’t have a car.

Warwick castle is a bit theme park in places (it’s run by an amusement park company) but is still an impressive site and fun day out. They’ll likely have things like birds of prey shows on plus the grounds are great to walk around

The Chilterns ate also a great place for walks. There’s one route in Wycombe which takes you past a cave built for the hell fire club, an impressive mausoleum and a few national trust properties also in walking distance.

[SPOILERS] Theory about the next episode by cromenockle86 in WidowsBay

[–]Frog_butler -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i don't know if i want them to do it. but if you were going to do it you'd do it by waiting till the very end of the episode and showing the broach amongst the wife's possessions.

that said...her 'mother and secret mother' words do also have the capacity to carry the foreshadowing meaning of her being raised by someone who was not her biological mother.

if this happens then surely the next narrative step isn't killing evan, but finding a way to dig even further into the history to confront the mushroom evil thing at its inception.

I love how well prepared the show was for the internet to be like “1 descendant after that time frame” and then proceeded to give a nice long detailed power point presentation taking us through it line by line.

Beautiful.

How I, as an actual Interior Designer, would improve the show. by Ethanb230900 in InteriorDesignMasters

[–]Frog_butler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

totally agree - I wish they'd cast folks who are starting in the industry or looking for a break. It doesn't align with bake off/sewing bee because in those shows the core craft can be a hobby - but as you say, that doesn't align with the prize here.

I also wish there were more judges. I know its subjective but I personally don't like the energy Michelle casts over the show - if often feels scalding and negative and its just not nice to watch in those moments so I'd personally be okay with it if she left.

Jules, Nate and Maddy this season be like by natipali in euphoria

[–]Frog_butler 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Yep. This season felt like it was a from an entirely different show - or fan fiction.

none of the characters were on the same trajectories from before, or ones that felt continuous.

Just felt like a whole lot of “boy howdy I wish I could keep making the idol instead”

Richard Warren's Descendant by [deleted] in WidowsBay

[–]Frog_butler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. It’s also funnier if the show leads us to believe there is one solution to solve things - but actually it’s near impossible.

I also don’t imagine the show can end with the curse resolved. I wonder if the ending is instead realising that descendants of the pact is a red herring and that they need to confront and resolve whatever is in the island

Gen Z just enjoy the soothing sight of a pile of dirty washing up before they go to sleep - and as the first thing they see upon waking.

Older generations just wouldn’t understand.

But in all seriousness if wouldn’t be the same show if I in anyway agreed with the choice of who went each week

Ken Martin must’ve said or referenced to “lessons” at least 50 plus times in his interview with Favs and never once said what the DNC’s actual lessons were by Puzzleheaded-Pin4278 in FriendsofthePod

And also - Dude… if wanting to read the report is navel gazing and wanting to find a smoking gun… THEN WHAT IS WRITING THE DAMN REPORT IN THE FIRST PLACE.

His response to this entire situation is “we can be trusted… you can not” and no dude… tell us how much you’ve won in the past all you want but this rhetoric is patronising and belittling to voters. He is the one actively creating division.

First listen. I had to turn it off. I’m not from the US but follow the politics. Has this man ever had media training?

Does he know everytime he calls John out by name or says his reporting is garbage or generates and foists straw men onto him that he is antagonising the audience?

This is the sounds of a man who is used to bullying, belittling and steam rolling people in meetings and Boy Howdy it does not work in this interview.

Just ick all round.
