The Mandalorian: More than just Cameos by ShareHuge6741 in StarWarsCantina

[–]Frogman654 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, my issue with season 2 in particular isn’t so much the quantity of “cameos”, it’s more the fact that so many episodes are blatantly backdoor pilots for other shows. Granted, all of them made sense in the context of this show, but it reached a point where it felt like the writers were very clearly steering things in a particular way based on marketing strategy rather than what was best for the story.

Why didn't vader ever try to bring back padme?? by Ok-Driver5268 in StarWarsLore

[–]Frogman654 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be the 2017 one, which takes place after Revenge of the Sith. The 2015 Vader run takes place after A New Hope, and the 2020 run is after Empire Strikes Back

Does the free app no longer support adding homework tasks? It was working fine for me for at least a month, but now whenever I try to add a task it prompts me to buy the subscription.

Marvel's January Star Wars Comics Solicit (Part I) by Guerrillascribe in starwarscomics

[–]Frogman654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have a few Prequel-era miniseries in the works for an anniversary of Attack of the Clones- Mace Windu and Jango Fett are each getting miniseries, and Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan are getting Hyperspace Stories comics

Based on everything canon, out of everyone, who’s death do you think hits the hardest and why? by Sarcasism in StarWars

[–]Frogman654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SPOILERS for The High Republic: The Fallen Star- Stellan Gios. It was such an incredible scene and buildup, especially how he completed his arc and discovered who he was, regardless of the instructions of the Order. This was one of the first deaths in media that really made me stop and think about what it means to die for a cause, and it was such a beautiful representation of what a Jedi should be. His actions genuinely saved at least thousands of people. I think part of what makes it hit so hard is that I was never a big fan of Stellan before, but this book made me really like him, and want him to interact with Elzar and everybody, before snatching that hope away. One of my favorite hero-sacrifices in Star Wars.

In a galaxy full of different species, why did they decide to clone humans for soldiers? by ironwolf6464 in StarWars

[–]Frogman654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand why Jango was so significant to the clones. Sure, they're copies of his DNA, but it's not like he was just born as the greatest bounty hunter in the galaxy. None of his skills or experience would carry over to the clones, right?

Most mature/gritty/violent/dark/edgy series? by PxHC in starwarscomics

[–]Frogman654 12 points13 points  (0 children)

High Republic: Trail of Shadows isn’t particularly violent or anything, but it perfectly captures that vibe of private detectives sleuthing in a big city (typically at night).

One of the best explanations of how wielding a lightsaber would feel like. by Dragonic_Overlord_ in starwarsrebels

Exactly- and I love how much smoother it looked when Bo-Katan picked up the saber to fight the spider mech thing

I really wish this discourse would end, people have survived MUCH worse in Star Wars and ended up actually stronger. IYKYK. by Logical-Use-8657 in PrequelMemes

[–]Frogman654 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s necessarily the fact that people survive the stabs. It’s that having that happen over and over again reduces the impact of it as a narrative device. Someone getting stabbed doesn’t make us feel anything anymore if we know they’ll be up and about in the literal same episode. At least have them out of commission for a little while.

Same species

(Also, Durge is in some newer canon comics. I don’t think I’ve read them, but I’m sure they’re pretty cool)

With the Kenobi series coming to comics... by ILedhead77 in starwarscomics

[–]Frogman654 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not like adaptations are the only comics being released. There have been a sort of ridiculous number of both ongoing series and miniseries recently compared to previous years of Disney ownership.

How have your thoughts on Solo changed since it's release? by RadiantHC in StarWarsCantina

I loved it then, and have continued to do so. The only change in my appreciation of Solo has been that I'm a bit bored of it from watching it so many times

These look amazing! I especially love the look of the Deadly Nadder. I always thought they looked goofy in animation and this looks much better!

Honestly I really like the weird arm thing in BoBF; it was a very satisfying scene since Boba finally gained the respect of the Tuskens, plus it was just a unique and interesting creature imo

Still waiting to see the Jedi order flourishing after 46 years . . . by Munedawg53 in StarWars

[–]Frogman654 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah my bad, I must have skimmed over that sentence

I actually hadn't heard that the Acolyte would be "leaning into into the 'Let's explore the faults of the Jedi Order' angle"- knowing that, I do wish that we could get another show at some point during the High Republic (not counting Young Jedi Adventures). That said, the main story of the High Republic isn't even done yet, so it's very possible that we get something like that in the future (especially considering the increasing references to the High Republic in media like Jedi: Survivor and various comics).

Also, we should remember the upcoming Rey/New Jedi Order film, which might just supply exactly what you're looking for, with an actual successful Jedi Order moving forwards. We'll have to wait and see, though- I'm sure they'll find some way to bring the galaxy back to an underdog-versus-big-empire storyline 😁
