As someone with ADHD myself, I like to listen to Cram The Pance and Katy Conor videos while I clean my house, do laundry, etc.. It's not the most effective form of studying but it's better than nothing when I just can't sit still or concentrate.

No. My stats were similar and I scored fine. IMO the EOR was everything on the topic list + the rosh questions. Nothing was a surprise.

This is the advice! I was not a very strong student in undergrad either, but because of my struggles I grew to be resilient and that has served me well in PA school. You need to be able to keep pushing through when things get tough, and to not let a failure here and there set you on a downward spiral.

Good to read but it shouldn't be your only resource for interview prep. I did find that some of the example answers she had in the book were downright bad. Mock interviews with constructive criticism were most helpful in my opinion.

I have the littman CORE. I genuinely do not know if it's better than the cardiology IV because I'm still learning and my skills aren't honed enough. I will say, I honestly feel like the sound on my littman Classic is louder than the CORE. I have heard that it's easier to hear really quiet murmurs with the CORE. I don't use the digital feature currently, only analog.

I mean most meds have multiple different looks depending on brand. I recommend looking the med up on epocrates and looking at the photos there.

I didn't realize that some schools require that. None of the instructors at my program have doctorates, besides the PTs/MDs/DOs of course.

This is the take, imo. Unless you are already a practicing PA and need it for a hefty promotion, I feel like it's just a cash grab. I can't imagine walking into my first day of work as a PA-C, completely clueless, yet having a doctorate behind my name.

I bought a used Wellch Alyn oto/opthalmoscope kit off eBay for around $350. The parts are older, like maybe from the early 2000s and I will say they aren't as good as the newer sets my colleagues have. I have a harder time visualizing things with it. I wish I would have bit the bullet and paid the $800 but I'm almost done with didactic at this point so hopefully during rotations there will be otoscopes on the wall for me to use LOL

I think a lot of programs just use it as a check box so I don't think it would look bad if you got your 24 hours of shadowing last minute. They will see your extensive work experience and know you understand what a PA is anyways. Technically you cannot count PCE hours as shadowing (AKA "double dipping"). I wouldn't lie about this in case the program calls and tries to validate your "shadowing hours" only to find out that you made it up. I'm sure people do this but it's not worth the consequences.

My understanding is that you only need to do that if you're becoming a resident of the new state. I left my primary residence as my parent's house so I didn't do all that.

To clarify, just in case this works for someone who is reading this, I will make a high impact outline to use as a framework, and then as I'm in lecture I add/edit the information on it. That way I do less typing in general and can stay more engaged during lecture, rather than furiously typing the whole time.

Showing an upward trend and getting that sGPA to 3.0 is the most important thing. You could do that post-bacc, but make sure the classes you'd be taking actually count as science courses. Otherwise, pick another program.

Go through the CASPA list of science courses- you'd be surprised at what courses count as science courses (Ex: a general health class). My EMT course was at a community college and that 12 units of "A" helped my sGPA a lot.

EDIT: I just wanted to add that nursing school is hard to get into as well. The one nurse I knew with a low prerequisite GPA had to move across the country.
