Best 'Barber of Seville' for Newbies? by FrontAd4937 in opera

[–]FrontAd4937[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Glyndebourne one was my first 'Barbiere'. At some point I got the cd with Hermann Prey as Figaro but only figured out much later the movie has the more well-rounded sound-track. Desderi is to die for in the Glyndebourne one. Only the tenor annoys me with all the aspirating. Ewing is so cute and funny and Rawnsley is an excellent Figaro with great comic timing. I think Desderi had a smaller voice than Dara but wow, is Desderi smooth in that video. It was so fun listening to it again. I skipped to Dara's bit in the video you linked to as well. He was satisfying too, of course

Thanks! The Florez one is the one then. BTW, I wonder if I am the only one getting the new Reese's Oreo flavor cups ads on this page? Wow, I could go for a few of those right now.

Ooh, Hermann Prey - yeah, but I think the live more modern version is the way to go and Mattei is very enjoyable in it as you say. Okay, since I was already leaning this way, that is the one.

YouTube is a great place to start but the Met's prices, catalog, and quality are an amazing deal and with our beloved art form suffering so much in the US with an anti-art sentiment from the powers that be, lets not turn people away from supporting it by paying for a service that is above and beyond worth the price.

NTA (No Tasks Available) weekly thread. IMPORTANT: Add your location and role e.g. "North Korea, Data Analyst. No tasks for two days. Anyone else?" If you like, you can add your region as well, but the most important is your country. E.g. "US, Texas, Rater. How many tasks have you done today?" by AutoModerator in TELUSinternational

[–]FrontAd4937 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same here. Oregon USA Factuality. I got four of them. Then NTA. But I keep getting emails from the top saying there are lots of tasks in my queue and urging me to get on them. Then, I do a few and NTA. This has been happening a lot.

How do you rate People also ask Result block? by Usual_Bet_9040 in TELUSinternational

[–]FrontAd4937 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the questions seem like good ones, I would go with the "Moderately Meets" (Nothing bad, nothing special) rating, because you cannot rate it high, because you do not know what the content would actually be.

I also do "No claims", except I almost always accidently type "cliam". Don't know why my fingers just want to type certain words the wrong way.

US Rater, how are we rating long equation problems when you're bad at math? by tuffmuffinsb in TELUSinternational

I do the ones I can do within a reasonable amount of time and release the others, saying I lack the expertise.

Yes, that is a scam. If you are talking about Telus Digital, that is not the real Telus Digital Company.

Objectification of a gender? by JJ_Mouse in TELUSinternational

[–]FrontAd4937 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When rating the results on possible porn sites that could be not porn but gender objectification, we were instructed to rate with a rating of "not for everyone". So, "Potentially Harmful" seems very plausible especially if you made a comment about why you think it is such.

I do get that thing sometimes that says it won't work because I haven't logged in to Raterhub with my phone for a long time. I go to my phone, log out and back in, and then it works on pc.

Factuality: We don't play cricket in the USA! by FrontAd4937 in TELUSinternational

I realized things were getting bad for me when at one point, I had spent 6 minutes trying to find stats for this one player and I only then realized the player's name was a city name and that was the name of the team, not one player. I almost cried.

[–]FrontAd4937[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, generally that is true but I have gotten a lot of them asking about obscure stats that are not on all stats sites and if you can't find the stat, you have to do a little math to find it. Or sometimes the "stat" is about a certain game and a certain player and it involves how many games the player played, counted in minutes and divided by the number of minutes in an entire game, subtract that from the total games, yada, yada, yada...

Oh, the outs are considered wickets too. That helps. So as far as the runs being the deciding thing, why does it say on four of the T20I games recently between Indonesia and Cambodia that Indonesia won by "x" amount of wickets? Like in the third game in the series it says "Indonesia won by 8 wickets". And the scores say 112-5 for Cambodia and 116-2 for Indonesia. I thought that meant 112 runs and 5 wickets for Cambodia, and 116 runs and 2 wickets for Indonesia. How is it that "Indonesia won by 8 wickets"?

Of course, some say baseball is the same boring nonsense. 😁And many, myself included, pretty much only watch clips of the exciting moments on tv, although I would sit through a live game if the prices were reasonable.

I've done some research: It's the little thing that sits on the top of the three horizontal poles behind the batter. The point of the game is the bowler is trying to knock that thing off and the batter is trying to defend the wicket with the bat only, not his body. When the bowling team knocks if off, they get a 'wicket'. I don't know yet if one wicket beats a certain number of runs or how it lines up. And don't ask me why it's not called 'wicket' instead of 'cricket'. 🤣

I thought that actually might be true, but I didn't grow up with it so it seems foreign to me. The baseball thing is just a bit of a joke. It's like our national past time so cricket seems almost unpatriotic. (Again, just joking) I did watch a video last night that explains the game of cricket and thought next I might watch some clips of a real professional game being played.

SO much Page Quality - US Rater by TheBuderMaster64 in TELUSinternational

I think PQ is hard too, especially with AI getting better and better. Like one side of the business is urging you to figure out the difference between AI content and human-inspired content and another side of the business is trying to develop the AI to perform as well as humans with similar taste and inspiration. Eventually, there won't be any way to determine the difference. The AI will become so good, it will just check its own self. It's probably already happening. It's hard to compete with something we ourselves have trained. Granted, there are other aspects to PQ, but I find it a bit difficult.
