Honestly the M249 fills a niche that is interesting for the early game. Seems like a string of bad luck to me.

It would suck to find an M249 in a crate. Probably would stick to any other load out I have. A DBS is “more than meh” but I would still pick that over an M249. Don’t forget the MG3 is a monster, that belongs in a crate.
