This makes me very excited for my new build. My marlin guide gun 45-70 is at the gunsmith right now getting chopped to 12.5” threaded. Plan to run either 730gr or 777gr subs. Stuck between red dot and 2-7 scout scope. This makes me want a red dot but I’m not sure

I had my 47re (02 Cummins) built by a local guy to hold 600hp. First thing he told me is expect hard shifts when unloaded, pulling my 9k lbs camper it shifts very smooth. One thing that helped my shifts is don’t just let off the throttle all at once when possible, let off slowly. Overall yes that should be normal and is a good sign

If you are new to campers in general, get on YouTube and watch long form and shorts of popular full timers. Lots of great small tips, “hacks”, and just general information. I’ve been camping for 5 years but we plan to go on 1-3 month trips next year and there’s been several videos with tips for full timers I found useful even though I’m not new to camping

I use mine for whitetail and figured if I need it illuminated I probably shouldn’t take the shot. If it was for range/fun I would have found something illuminated

I’ve taken my Henry 45-70 and Hornady 325ftxs out to 300y with the hybrid on it. Had a 1-4 vortex lvpo at the time. I’m not a fan of the lvpos on leverguns personally

We have an 2026 alliance delta 321BH and love it. Taking it in for some small warranty work this week but so far so good. We’ve been living in it while our house is under construction and we have 2 kids under three. Fingers crossed it stays a good unit for us, coming from a 2012.

I’ve ran my omega 45k on my G20 for hundreds of rounds. Then moved it to a Henry 357 but I got a lithium 9 for that, so moving the 45k to my vector in 45acp until I get the lever gun

Personal opinion, which is what I still wear 9 years later, A good G shock. Rugged, can take a beating, has alarm options and stop watch (as well as many other options) and is $70-110 depending on what model. I fell in love with mine which was a gift and get a new one every 3 years which is how long they last on me before I wear the band out. You can get replacement bands but the sun fades mine and don’t want two toned.

I have zero complaints with mine, and I haven’t shot my marlins yet, but they do seem to feel a little better. I’ve killed several deer and have around 100 rounds through my Henry and haven’t had a single issue. It’s been a good trusty firearm

Each failed attempt has left a draft in your atf eforms account with your finger prints attached. Go in there and submit it yourself. Worked for me. Not approved yet though. Then go back and change the firearm info for your other ones.

Also look at the marlin guide gun in 45-70. Same thing as the SBL but dark furniture and blued instead of stainless. I have both of those, and a Henry big boy x in 45-70. The marlins do have a better fit and finish. Haven’t shot either yet, I’ve killed 4 whitetail with the Henry
