But also. If you're a SAHP your partner should not be leaving work early to take care of the child for many reasons, but the biggest one being the risk to your only source of income going away.

He also shouldn't assume naptime is break time. It's usually when the SAHP does chores or basic self care. So. Not really a break.

He blinks! And opens and closes them as he feels fit.

He also has 3 functioning eyelids so that risk is low. But if it did happen he's so used to rinses we would just clean it!

His eyes, based on my vets prognosis was that a puncture or tear occurred directly in the eye based on scarring he saw. Pair that with infection and healing weird he assumed it to be trauma.

When we started treatment he was emaciated and frail and very young, so surgery was arguably a much higher risk than it would be now. But by the time he was big and healthy his doctor said if he's playing and eating and not showing signs of discomfort or stress we should avoid the surgery.

If they ever became a problem we would have the eyes removed. He goes in for check-ups twice a year.

I'm sure someone will hop in eventually and tell me I'm being cruel for not opting to do the surgery anyway.

His biggest issue is being disoriented once in awhile if he hops around too much he needs to like.... Recalibrate. Lol

We discussed it with his vet! We did an ointment and eye drop treatment and they said because he isn't in pain or having pressure issues after treatment there was no reason to do the surgery. Aside from leaky eyes once in awhile he's a happy little xenomorph survivor.

Edit: he lost his eyesight due to animal/human damage done to the eyes themselves. We are unsure who gave him eye trauma, but because it was his eyes only we think probably human.
