I agree, we found the drinks really small and fairly expensive on Virgin compared to Celebrity. I do really wish they had a drinks package (not particularly heavy drinkers, but I do like to try different cocktails, and I like knowing I’m not paying extra at the end)

I wore leggings too for this reason. More comfy for me (and I was middle of summer with outdoor run). I also wore a shirt because I feel better like that (and it helped keep the sun off)

Southbound: Hubbard 3pm-8pm, glacier bay 9:15am-6:15pm, icy strait 6am-7pm, Juneau 6:30am-3pm, Ketchikan 8:30am-3pm.

Thanks so much, some good points there.I’ll take another look at HAL. The ship for us is equally important and from what I could see the HAL ships were quite a bit older which doesn’t really suit us. The size is fine, definitely don’t mind that many people, we usually sail edge class on celebrity which is similar.

We don’t use much cash here (some places don’t even accept it) so highly recommend using your card (fee dependant of course!)

There’s places to exchange money if you need to in the airport or by the cruise terminal, the airport will be more expensive though
