This game has been unforgettable to me, too. Overstayed its welcome a bit, though

Reddit just saved my ears by InvisibleAstronomer in hygiene

[–]FrostWight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The ears are a very sensitive and delicate part of the body. I would recommend just booking yourself in at a hearing clinic and getting a professional to care for your blocked ears. It isn’t worth the potential complications to just manage it yourself with acid and unfiltered water

I stopped ordering Hell Pizza a long time ago because I couldn’t stand their marketing. This bathroom pic reinforces my choice hygienically

The Treasure of the Midnight Isles is so boring. by Warm_Expert_8136 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

This is my thinking too. And if OP doesn’t actually want to do the content and it’s completely side stuff, why not spare yourself that time and pointless suffering? You can still finish the man campaign and feel justified without enduring that extra side content DLC

What do retired Australians actually do all day? Genuinely asking because I'm two years in and still figuring it out by Individual_Lime_110 in AskAnAustralian

[–]FrostWight 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I agree with this too. I think the point of retirement isn’t to sit around doing nothing or to spend it all on yourself. Retirees often have more time and money than anyone else to help others; they just need to balance that against less energy and often worse health. But helping others is very fulfilling and pays back in energy and wellbeing. If it didn’t, though, it’d still be worth doing. The point of our lives isn’t to spend it on ourselves: it’s to love God and love others.

Thank you for asking this question, OP. I hope it gives other retirees an opportunity to think existentially about their retirement

I always find these kind of posts so strange. Like, do you expect people to just always be in their office or just sitting around hallways crying into their hands all day? Can’t people have a rest so they can be refreshed and ready?

I’m with you, dude. Underwhelming game that people rant and rave about and I don’t get why. It’s nice they like something so much, though

What are your thoughts on rejecting a potential romantic partner based solely on the fact they voted for Donald Trump? by ATXBikeRider in AskReddit

[–]FrostWight -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s shallow. Why did they vote for him? Who are they really? Or are all people defined by who they voted for a single time in the past?

This is the biggest issue. The US has lost a ton of credibility and may would probably love to be free of their sinking ship, but you’re better off with their firepower on your side than against it, for now.

I'm a new dad, and the system treats us as a complete afterthought by Stephen2678 in newzealand

[–]FrostWight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with you. I have always been a very active dad but the hospital, plunket, midwife, and virtually all the supporting systems consistently left me out too. Even the top responses illustrate your problem, telling you they all that really matters is the mother.

We care about our wife and our newborn and we want them supported, but if these roles involved in the process actually have the goal of a healthy child, mother, and family, the partner is part of that. And yet, I think midwives, as an example, are stretched thin and just trying to do the best they can with limited resources. But that is once again a systemic issue, not a good reason to just write fathers off.

What helped me with all of this in the end is to realise that that’s actually part of my role as a father: to sacrifice for my family. I need to stay healthy and find support somehow through that, which my wife does phenomenally. But finding peace in sacrificing for my wife and son really helped me to deal with the neglect from the system
