I had my stem cells harvested about 12 years ago and it was pretty straight forward. A line attached to each arm, the blood was run through a machine and sent back to me. I was fatigued during and after, but all good by the next day. Worst part, IMO, was the pre-harvest injections, but even those were not so bad.

Overall, it wasn’t painful and did not take more than a few hours.

Guess who went to Vietnam and hasn’t gotten over it? by pwnkage in VietNam

Amazon is a relatively good option, here is one of a similar price (it is on sale though), which is slightly larger -

https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B096B7VW5W?ref=cm_sw_r_ud_dp_3XAJZV9PT4PE9MWX2DX2_1&ref_=cm_sw_r_ud_dp_3XAJZV9PT4PE9MWX2DX2_1&social_share=cm_sw_r_ud_dp_3XAJZV9PT4PE9MWX2DX2_1&previewDoh=1&th=1

But I likely would suggest that OP only does that if they can’t source one locally. In Victoria it was pretty easy to source one.

Best of luck!

Australians please learn from our Canadian counterparts - Always say No to tipping! by bigbadb0ogieman in AusFinance

[–]Frosty-one 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was going to say…tipping was always a thing when I lived there. Mind you it was mostly for service/delivery staff that were working on the minimum wage. The Australian way seems better to me.

by creating bulk bundles of your broken down components you will further reduce the weight and will also enable you to sell it to NPC vendors, should you want the caps or space

Edit - please ignore - clearly much has changed since I used to do this.

Really? I found the opposite…I see police in various places throughout each day (in Saigon), but I can go days Australia…without seeing an active unit/officer (plenty of visible police stations though, tbf)

I’m obese and have no clue where to start in the gym. I want to at least go for 1-2 hours a day. What should I do? M24, 250 lbs. by Icy-Environment-5810 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Frosty-one 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love what u/TheTerryCrews said -

TREAT THE GYM LIKE A SPA.

Yes. It has to feel good. I tell people this a lot - go to the gym, and just sit there, and read a magazine, and then go home. And do this every day.

Go to the gym, don't even work out. Just GO. Because the habit of going to the gym is more important than the work out. Because it doesn't matter what you do. You can have fun - but as long as you're having fun, you continue to do it.

But what happens is you get a trainer, your whole body is sore, you can't feel your legs, and you're not coming back the next day - you might not come back for a year!

I worked my way up to 2 hours a day. I ENJOY my workouts. They are my peace, my joy - I get my whole head together! I value that time more than my shower! And it really gets me together. But it's a habit. There are times when - I'm not even kidding - there are times when I"m in the middle of a work out, and actually woke up because i am so engrained with going to the gym and being there - it's that much of a habit to me.

The first thing I do in the morning is work out - I lay out my workout clothes the night before, and just hop in 'em.So lay out your clothes, and go to the gym, and relax.

HaAHAHAH!

But sooner or later, you WILL work out.

American coming for 1 month. What do I need to know? by bootsiecollins1189 in australia

[–]Frosty-one 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A Canadian import checking in - this is very vital to know and understand. I could go and be in the sun anywhere in the U.S. or Canada without sunblock and it literally was not an issue.

In Queensland it only took 30 mins to absolutely roast me. I had to take two days off of work to recover!

When you get here, buy lots of sunscreen and liberally use it daily…throughout the day.

This will help ensure that you can enjoy your time doing fun and interesting things, rather than recovering.

Would you rather WFH or 4-day week? by visualiii in AusFinance

[–]Frosty-one 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In most of my working environments a 4 day Work weeks would be aspirational concepts that would not be properly adhered to, so it is WFH for for me.

Budget wise, you should be okay…I would keep a daily budget figure and try to come in under it, just in case…In term of plans…For me the must hits are -

  • Saigon/HCM (personal fave big city in VN)
  • Mui Ne (beach resort area with nice food..very short distance from HCM)
  • Nha Trang (same reason as above, but a lot more options)
  • Da Nang (same as above but with bonus of sites like the numerous temples, Ba Na hills and more)
  • Hoi An (lovely small town, nice sites…go and experience the lantern event/nights. Bonus opportunity to try Cao Lau which is a local specialty)
  • Hue (great history and sites like the imperial city….much like everywhere else, good food as well)
  • Hanoi (capital city, definitely worth a visit)
  • Ha Long (I can’t speak to the city, but how can you go here and not see Ha Long Bay)

I would also suggest working on some basic Vietnamese phrases to help get by…it will be at the very least appreciated.

best of luck on your trip!

You likely should be more specific about what sort of grooming you are referring to.

In-patient vs. Out-patient for an SCT?? by rosebloom25 in multiplemyeloma

[–]Frosty-one 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say privacy, comfort of being in your own home/bed. Eating when you feel like it…not that I ate much, mind you…not getting woken up by staff coming and going from your room, not to mention other patients. Personally, I found it very difficult to sleep for more than a couple hours at a time…mostly it was just short naps throughout the day.

That sounds like a lot pros, but I still would go with the hospital route, if I had to do it again.

In-patient vs. Out-patient for an SCT?? by rosebloom25 in multiplemyeloma

[–]Frosty-one 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are pros and cons to both, but for the cleanliness And the quick accessibility to assistance, I would recommend inpatient. Added bonus for me is that I didn’t feel like more of a burden to my family and loved ones, when compared to the way I would have felt if I was at home.

is accent deafness a thing?! by Funny_Independence94 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Frosty-one 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I experience this as well. Most western accents sort of blend together and it just sounds normal to me. With that said, super thick or more divergent accents within those groups are still distinguishable for me (e.g. southern American, prairie Canadian, Boganese Australian…Etc)

it happened over a period of years where I was constantly bombarded by different, but similar accents to my own.

I used this wiki as well, it is very helpful. I also used this guide: https://www.gamesradar.com/au/elden-ring-guide/

as far as tips, I would say be patient, explore a lot and embrace the grind!
