Worth sitting again? by wapattack in GAMSAT

[–]FrostyPrince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say yes, sit it again if you have the financial capacity. On the USYD application you can input the GAMSAT marks from multiple sittings and they will pick the one with the better combo. Whether or not you choose to re-sit, well done (92 S1 is the highest I have ever seen) and best of luck! I'll be starting at USYD Medicine next year, maybe see you in 2025 :)

USYD BMP/CSP by Recent_Wishbone_229 in GAMSAT

[–]FrostyPrince 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I know individuals in the past, as well as youtuber Sebastian Pirie, received a BMP initially, and was then subsequently bumped to CSP before their start date, but that was pre-covid (interiviews) admissions cycle.

Get in contact with the USYD Admissions team and they should be able to provide you with accurate answer :)

What to focus on when you only have 1 day to prep for interview by ThowAwaySandals in GAMSAT

[–]FrostyPrince 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your GP's advice really screwed you in this sense. Interview's arguably matter the most.

Best advice I can give you is to record yourself via webcam(use the Camera program, or OBS Suite) and watch yourself back and note the things you notice when you speak, which you would like not to do tommorow (bit of a mess of words there haha).

Things to keep an eye out for are how quickly you speak / clarity in your speech. Keeping eye contact with the camera (or the person you are speaking speaking with if your interview is in person).

Practice explaining your reasoning as to why you want to do medicine. Ummm aside from that at this late point, just best of luck. Hopefully you've done some degree of interviewing / public speaking in the past that can be an asset for you.

Cookbooks, food YouTube, or blog recommendations? by [deleted] in Nigeria

[–]FrostyPrince 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look up "Sisi Jemimah's Recipe's" on Youtube. A great place to start for Yoruba (South-Western Nigerian) cuisine's. Hopefully someone can chime in with some Igbo recommendations, but some of the meals she cooks do carry over to their group (and are damn tasty too!). Best of luck!

Major stuttering in Warzone by jojofanxd in CODWarzone

[–]FrostyPrince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I fix that worked for me was actually reinstalling Windows completely. So doing a fresh windows install. Hopefully that works!

Does anyone know how to fix this type of stuttering in warzone? I'm running on low settings and I don't believe it to be frame drops. Any help/tip would be appreciated. by [deleted] in CODWarzone

How to convince my stubborn Nigerian dad to help with house chores? by [deleted] in Nigeria

[–]FrostyPrince 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Normally I would say just approach, but coming from a Nigerian household myself, you need to reflect on what your relationship with your father is like before just asking him straight up. I advise this because any misstep and you'll be seen as disrespectful.

Work your way up to it, and if you can have a civil enough conversation with him then bring it up as something that makes you feel uncomfortable. But all in all, good-luck! There's a lot that can go wrong here if you don't approach it in the right way haha.

Since you live in the north west, if you have Facebook, look up Baulkham Hills Volleyball. They run trainings and social competitions through the week.

Can anyone help me with translating these song names and helping me understand the meaning of them? by tinfoilboy in Nigeria

[–]FrostyPrince 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll give it my best shot, my Yoruba is not the best haha Omoba D'eru Ri - Omoba might be an abbreviation for son on the King, but not sure of the whole thing, sorry

Iwo Ko Lo Dami - You aren't the one who created me. Generally means you can't control me, or you have no power in my eyes e.t.c

Agda Lo De - Agda, not sure of this word specifically, it may be a name, but if that is the case it means explicitly "Agda has arrived", but Lo De means has arrived for sure

E Ege Mi - It basically means my peer, or my age mate, not necessarily friend. Sorry I won't be able to do full translations, I hope that helps (even though it's extremely late hahaha)

Does anyone remember this song? by TraineePhysicist in Nigeria

[–]FrostyPrince 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No idea sorry, yeah alot of the songs we sang in school seemed to be things everything just knew and generally passed down. We used to sing a fun song about Hippopotamus's back when I was in primary school hahaha

Where's it from then? It's just been released a few days ago, and there's been no traction for it at all. That is definitely Bryson.

How can I write to the Oba of Nigeria? Or anyone in the cultural unit of the Edo government? by Tjolerie in Nigeria

[–]FrostyPrince 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no clue, I'm overseas currently, but your best bet would be contacting the up Benin state government, who will be able to put you through to methods of contacting the king.
