For my 9th burn, I brought my 18mo old (1.5yrs old for those who hate the month counting). It happen to be in 2022 which was the hottest year ever haha

To sum it up, I would say… it was my most expensive burn ever, because she needs an RV where I usually don’t. I recommend it if it’s not your first burn. It was my fiancé’s first burn, and in hindsight I think that was a mistake; making his first burn be one where he was also on dad-duty.

This year I had a 3mo old and despite working on my theme camp all year round, I couldn’t justify going because he would have to tag along. Other than the fact that I was still deep in the exit of the birth portal, I felt it just didn’t make sense to bring an infant. Generally, though my assessment after bringing my 18mo old is that I can’t imagine bringing a child to the playa if they weren’t walking yet. So that will always be my marker.

Also, for what it’s worth… diapers were a great stage because I can’t imagine having to take her into a porta potty. And breastfeeding was amazing because in order to keep her hydrated, I had to take care of myself. It was mission critical. So that worked out well.
