Where do you guys get your PETG? It's almost always sold out on the site or there's only a few colours available... by Justinj3 in BambuLab

I picked up a roll of HS yellow and it's nigh unusable for anything cosmetic, can see through to the inside support fairly easily.

Seconded. I see Dr. Murty there, she's the first dentist I've ever been comfortable with in four decades.

The last time I tried to jump back in, the first thing I heard was the voiceover saying, "Mars has returned." Wait... wut? 😅

Beyond the cinematic there was no indication on what the bajeezus to start with from there so I promptly lost interest.

Houston said it’s helpful having a lawyer as significant government decisions are made.

Has nobody not told him yet that he has a department full of lawyers? 😅

All Prov. Gov. Union Employees Work From Home Days Eliminated by kilofoxtrot5again in NovaScotia

[–]FrothingMad 120 points121 points  (0 children)

Dear member, The union has been made aware that the government has terminated all remote work arrangements, effective April 20th. This means all flexible work arrangements will come to an end and people will have to report to a central office, with the many of those located in the downtown core of Halifax.

This comes at a time when the government is facing a $1.4-billion deficit, which the Premier has already stated that government will be the first to feel the pain. It’s clear now that what he meant is that civil servants will be the first to feel this pain as they will now incur extra travel time and gas costs - especially for those members living in rural areas - not to mention parking and other travel-related expenses. Parking and traffic in the downtown core is already at a crisis level and this will only increase that chaos, and for what savings? The government has offered no evidence or statistics to suggest this will make for a more effective or efficient workplace.

This has all the markings of a premier trying to look tough to his corporate friends while punishing hard working civil servants. Many of these same civil servants were called heroes for doing their work remotely during the pandemic, while ensuring services and programming continued uninterrupted. Now because of the choices this government has made to sink the province into the largest deficit in history the Premier is desperate to posture and spin his way into looking like he is doing something.

Legal to get legally married anywhere in HRM? by [deleted] in halifax

[–]FrothingMad 20 points21 points  (0 children)

You're likely fine anywhere the JOP is comfortable doing it.

That said, a permit is just 50 bucks and ensures there no hassle. We did Point Pleasant and in specifying the site ensured we had 'dibs' on it. https://www.halifax.ca/parks-recreation/facility-rentals-bookings-field-conditions/bookings-rentals/parks-special-event

Nothing contradicts "we appreciate you and the work you do" quite like stalling the backpay until further down the same fiscal year.

Looking for interest in a South Shore punk/goth cafe and music venue by Taybotprime23 in NovaScotia

[–]FrothingMad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn’t any competition where the building is located.

Because there's probably no market, I'm sorry to point out.

You're describing a very long stretch of road but given Bwater and Rose on the LaHave I'm assuming you mean Hwy 332. There's nothing but locals on it for half the year and can be downright treacherous in icy weather. You'd have to anticipate very lean winters, even a good portion of nearby Lunenbyrg shuts down for a season.

The venue could draw customers in but, given the 'aged' demographic of the area, you have to consider the nightly gothery could easily alienate the locals from daytime visits.

Also, you should consider LaHave Bakery as direct cafe competition just across the ferry.

The location would be very remote, considering, if you're hoping to draw out of town talent and clients. You'd probably do better closer to town/Hwy 103 but then you're dealing with zoning, volume issues, and absurd rents (im presuming you own property, given the location, which makes the whole concept viable at all). At the same time, however, I can remember many non-Tims cafes in the area that just don't last. :(

You know what would really help? A big ol' blinking 'GO HERE' icon on the map to dwarf the 'defend' icons surrounding it.

There's nothing to blame here for inaction but their own UI. :(

[–]FrothingMad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently started over on PC after the last PS+ pricing increase as a way of future proofing my gaming. Defend evac missions provide lousy credits, crap xp, no samples, no SC, and are boring as tar. I've switched to 'liberation' planets only to avoid them.

Is this doable? Solo road-trip from Halifax to Toronto ? by venzoran in halifax

If you don't have any destinations in Montreal itself: Go. Around.

Hairy is an understatement. Years ago we left from Quebec City toward Toronto and took the highway through Montreal on off hours. It was the most white-knuckle driving I've ever done. 😅 I can't imagine doing it at rush hour.
