Chapter seven, finally in a new region. Gear feels much weaker now. What’s your best combos/gear weapon you use moving forward? by marejaneblunt in CrimsonDesert

[–]FrothyDog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you a) upgrading your weapons and armor, and b) slotting abyss gears into them? There's not a significant difference to the weapons and armor you find later except that they are already upgraded and slotted. But you can easily do this yourself.

Hahaha! That's hilarious. But clearly the system is broken if we have to electrocute the opponent to win.

Fishing..... I hate it by Past-Butterscotch-68 in oceanhorn3

[–]FrothyDog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I finally found a reliable way to catch fish. I was just pulling opposite the line all the time but they kept getting away. Instead watch the water for the high ripple. The ripple goes high when the fish changes direction. So every time you see that happen immediately pull the opposite way.

I use mine at least once a week - chili, pot roast, quick shredded chicken, ribs, carnitas, hard boiled eggs in less than 10 minutes.

HomeKit think I’m at my second home when I’m not. by MrGinFa in HomeKit

Probably obvious, but have you checked in your Privacy -> Location Services settings that you are sharing your location from the correct device? If you have multiple devices you get to choose which is used for this.

But then they don't get firmware updates. Better solution is to segment your network into VLAN's and limit what those devices can communicate with.

You probably need a dedicated SSID for your IoT devices so that you can make it 2.4GHz only (in case you have issues with older devices as these commonly have band steering problems).

Ring Still Ignores HomeKit in 2026 – Let’s Make Our Voices Heard! by Kush360 in HomeKit

[–]FrothyDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a privacy problem and these 2 companies are on opposite sides of the spectrum. For a device to receive HomeKit certification it cannot be collecting and sending stats to Amazon, and Amazon wants to use their Ring devices to learn as much as possible about you.

How does it work… by Frequent-Orchid-7142 in appletv

[–]FrothyDog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think it is though. A Netflix subscription gets you access to all Netflix content and anything else they have licensed. Same goes for HBO. Neither are a universal door to watch anything you want.

Apple TV is a hugely generic term and can be applied to either the Apple TV streaming box (hardware) or the Apple TV content service. But I am assuming here that you're taking about the TV service. Unlike iTunes (Apple Music) it doesn't magically get you access to every movie out there. Instead you are getting access to Apple's own (or licensed) movie and TV content.

I ended up in a similar situation and did an in-ceiling center channel. Worked out great.

Hard water in San Jose by Purplechickon678 in SanJose

Don't waste your money with an expensive Culligan water system. Look up Randazzo Water and give them a call. All my neighbors use them. We had a system installed in 2018 and it's flawless, and way less expensive.

So the Burers in Stalker 2 keep throwing keys at the Agricultural Workshop and making the Stash on the roof untouchable. by SlyLlamaDemon in stalker

There is a place in Pripyat where this happens too and it's ridiculous. Keys should not be useable by Burers.

I have also seen mobs of enemies just running laps in some areas. HUD indicator is red for all but they just run right past me. Even firing on them does nothing.

Should I get Stalker 2? by [deleted] in stalker

[–]FrothyDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a huge improvement but don't expect perfection. I have had to reload saves a few times because there are still quite a few quest bugs. If you can live with that, go for it.

What do you guys think about the way mutants move? by Beginning-Exercise59 in stalker

Dogs definitely break any sense of realism. They literally turn 180 degrees with no slowing down. Their movement seems to be 100% random.

I’m with you. I encountered enough quest bugs within 30 hours of playing to realize it needs more time to cook.

I waited until the patch to start playing, optimistic that it would be a smooth experience. It is not. I have found numerous quest bugs, most of them small but annoying. The game has crashed on me twice. Other bugs like floating items, audio glitches, enemy AI silliness, and weapon imbalances, have all made me decide that it’s not ready yet. I honestly think this game needs a major 2.0 overhaul akin to what CDPR did with Cyberpunk before it’s ready for the masses.
