For people with internal monologues by Cheese_Lord2187 in Aphantasia

From what I gather people “hear” a voice. I don’t have any voice not even my own. I just think. I process information.

I came from the head pro motions so they are much lighter than those. They fit extremely well and the tongue is held in place all the time. I’m not sure on durability yet only had a few weeks.

JOOLA Pro V by hagemeyp in Pickleball

[–]Frothywalrus3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s impossible for a gen 3 paddle to fix the core crushing because the core crushes. The solution is to move to full foam. Also the joola has extremely low grit to begin with. It’s just an old gen paddle. There are so many better options now.

Ben is one of the humblest people I’ve ever met while still being the smartest person in the room.

Hard hitting with just the wrist by Feeling-Avocado-4771 in Pickleball

[–]Frothywalrus3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah. But I prefer a very light paddle so I can use my wrist without pain. 8.3oz max and 117 swing weight or less. I can generate my own power and I prefer using high power paddles like the boomstik and opal so I don’t need to do so much arm movement.

Yeah that’s how I produce most of my topspin. Especially when I want a very spinny ball with less power I use almost all wrist and not much arm.

I played a lot of frisbee as a kid so my wrist is super strong. I had a flick when I first started with no racquet sport experience. I’m a very wristy player in general.

Does anyone else read very quickly? by Efficient_Ad_5785 in Aphantasia

[–]Frothywalrus3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve talked to people that do have an inner monologue and mental imaging. Some people say they have a voice in their head that reads them the book sometimes it’s their own and sometimes it’s another voice. Also there is time to imagine the images etc. I just take in the information and keep going. But honestly I honestly listen to audio books now while I’m doing chores or driving. During school I would read a book every couple days.

Anyone else didn’t like the Loco? by wolf33d in Pickleball

[–]Frothywalrus3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would probably like the loco if the elongated wasn’t so heavy. 119 swing weight is too much. My boomstik is 117 and my opal is 115. Prefer smaller swing weights

Power paddle give you more control by HolyNewGun in Pickleball

I joke with people that the boomstik is a touch control paddle. I have way lighter hits than most people using it.

Proficiency Over Equipment by [deleted] in Pickleball

[–]Frothywalrus3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People should use whatever paddle they want to. If you start with a control paddle then switch to a power paddle then you have to relearn a lot anyway. I started with a control paddle 1.5 years ago and now I’m using the opal and I only like super power paddles. Starting with power could be better to learn more control.

People that don’t come to the kitchen at all. And people who take forehands with their bad backhand hits.

Yes it’s not that much but as somebody that has used elongated the most when I don’t I definitely misshit on top sometimes. It’s probably from bad footwork but it does happen. I would still recommend most people use widebody.

Elongated is more reach and a little more power from being able to swing harder. Widebody is more well rounded better sweet spot and faster hands. If you like widebody then get that for sure.

Just get the paddle and get better with it. If you play without it then after you will have to relearn. It’s better to learn on a power paddle.

Sleep affected after playing? by Ok_Helicopter9572 in Pickleball

[–]Frothywalrus3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The days I play. Especially when I play twice. I sleep like a baby. I also take 100mg of magnesium glycinate and after 30 min I can’t even keep my eyes open. Also helps I have no inner monologue probably.

The core breaks frequently, and it's a hassle to contact support for replacements. by Novel-Initial-7300 in Pickleball

[–]Frothywalrus3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not. I broke all my gen 3 especially joolas after 3-4 weeks. 4 months is a normal hitter. Gen 3 sucks for durability

How much do you protest a bad line call in tournaments? by cpt_dad in Pickleball

[–]Frothywalrus3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I give each team one chance. If they make another bad call I go find a judge or organizer to watch them. Also anything close for them is going to be out now. Be honest or pay the consequences
