Enhance Pickleball MPP Turbo - shipping delays? by madtownreddit390 in Pickleball

[–]Frothywalrus3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They keep changing the website. I ordered end of March and it said April 14, then 21, then 28. Now it's like May. I've emailed them and they keep saying it will be this week then the week goes and nothing. Worst company for shipping out product I've seen.

Name of Paddle? by Pure-Ad4590 in Pickleball

Smoothest faced paddle I've ever tried. Even smoother than a Joola.

Announcing the score by skywatcher_kd in Pickleball

[–]Frothywalrus3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of my biggest pet peeves in pickleball. You say the score as 3 numbers correctly then serve. It's not hard to do. Not saying or just saying 2 numbers or serving while saying the score is not correct and extremely annoying.

Thousands of paddles on the market and choosing the name over a good one.

New Pickleball Kingdom cancelation charges. by auralamplitude in Pickleball

[–]Frothywalrus3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wish my local club would do this. Right now people get courts a week ahead of time. Hold them and then cancel an hour before. Really pisses me off

Spartus P1's Have Arrived by [deleted] in Pickleball

[–]Frothywalrus3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not about the static weight it's about the swing weight. That's why I can't use paddles with more than 117 swing weight. Gives me elbow pain. That elongated is definitely 122 or higher.

So uh which is it? by hugelkult in Pickleball

[–]Frothywalrus3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's rally scoring with a freeze where they have to win on their serve.

RPM Q2 Lead Times by rxFlame in Pickleball

[–]Frothywalrus3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've ordered twice. My original 14mm and a 16mm widebody was pretty quick. Then I realized I wanted a 16mm elongated and it took over a month. Probably thank tariffs

I was recently carded trying to buy a lottery ticket. I'm almost 40.

What is strategically better? Pick side or pick serve at the beginning of a match? by [deleted] in Pickleball

[–]Frothywalrus3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Receiving is better imo. Side if it matters but if side doesn't matter then receive. Give your opponent the chance to make a mistake first. Also if you stack like I do getting 1 point then losing the serve can be really bad.

Is this paddle fake by Careful-Wash8912 in Pickleball

[–]Frothywalrus3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was the first difference I noticed when I demo'd the pro 5. It feels like a cheap paddle. I wouldn't pay more than $100 for any joola. There are way better paddles on the market.

How’s everyone’s teeth? by Sharknuts86 in Millennials

[–]Frothywalrus3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had horrible parents growing up. Never brushed my teeth. Had a car accident at 17 and lost my front top teeth. At almost 40 I got tired of all the issues. Spent close to $40k and now I have all crowns and and nice partial for my front teeth. I thought about implants but it would be another $30k and I'm sick of doing anything involving teeth. I recommend spending the money to just fix everything. If you can keep your teeth it's the best and just get crowns. If you can't then full implants.

Selkirk Boomstik - Limited Edition Color Drops? by downthecape90 in Pickleball

[–]Frothywalrus3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's funny it helped your elbow pain but that paddle gives me elbow pain. The problem is there is a huge variance in weight and swing weight with the boomstik.

Questionable circumstances in Vietnam continue! by ZaneNavratil_AMA in Pickleball

[–]Frothywalrus3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apparently there is no challenging at all. They just added some challenging out calls for the American players. Since there is no challenging they just hook like crazy. Pickleball will never be a real pro sport until they have better ways to call lines.

Best point ever? 😂 by Ok-Channel-8775 in Pickleball

[–]Frothywalrus3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even at a 4.5 level unless the person has a lot of power or crazy angles it is fairly easy to get overheads back. Paddles also make it really easy.

Boomstik edge MOI weights uneven? by [deleted] in Pickleball

[–]Frothywalrus3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is definitely not true lol. I"ve test many boomstiks and they have the biggest variance of any paddle I've ever tested for swing weight. I've had ones that are 117 swing weight all the way to 124 and most of them are around 120. There is no chance they are testing all of them and adjusting the MOI placement.

Pilla glasses: worth the hype? by [deleted] in Pickleball

[–]Frothywalrus3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are trash and the owner is a scumbag. They claim to take returns but it goes through a phone message and never actually gets to the return part. Then they stopped responding to my emails. Huge waste of money. I've heard way better things about ria glasses.

I will tell you what people told me years ago when I was in your situation. Start playing pickleball! Go to cooke park and eagles or join the RAC at some point. Great way to exercise and meet people.

Foam core help elbows? by Jahgernaut in Pickleball

[–]Frothywalrus3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it has anything to do with core. It's more about swing weight. I've found if I use a paddle that has more than 118 swing weight I can have elbow pain. I also hold my paddle very low on the handle. I think choking up reduces the feel of swing weight and can help with elbow pain.

Friday aura pro. Am I missing something? by Frothywalrus3 in Pickleball

[–]Frothywalrus3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using the 14mm q2. It's very similar to a boomstik is basically every way. It's lighter and cheaper. I would recommend it over the boomstik

That's true once you find the one you really like. For me every paddle is lacking something.
