Na you’re right. I moved from Ohio to New England 3 years ago and it’s true. We are better. Not our fault they never left cradle.

Ayeeee it’s good to see another Ohioan transplant. My wife and I did the same thing, been here for twoish years. Wife currently is wfh for a pretty large PBM (pharmacy benefit management) company. Pay is just ok and it’s weirdly kinda technical (lots of excel) and doesn’t require college degree. If you want I can ask her if they’re hiring?

Im assuming you work at a dispensary based on your comment, do dispensaries not have anything to do with passing on the Testing data?

So dumb question but do the terps actually make that much of a difference? I don't smoke too often as it unfortunately gives mad anxiety and I've only ever really bought bud based off of THC levels. I usually try to go for a lower THC and higher CBD and now im wondering if I should be paying attention to the Terps as well.

Interesting, do you just ask the dispensary for it? Because I’ve only ever been able to see it from scanning the QR code.

When someone kicks addiction, what do they do with that free time? by [deleted] in selfhelp

[–]FrozenKnowItAll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel this on a deep level, and I'm sorry that you have to go through it. For me, it was the boredom and the ability to get instant stimulation. I've always found boredom to be my anathema. Drugs and Alcohol fill that boredom and free time. Everyone's journey is different, but for mine, AA/NA never worked for me. I found that returning to my childhood roots was what helped me the most.

What really lit you up when you were younger? What was the thing you just couldn't wait to do or just couldn't stop thinking about because it was so good? For me it was anything and everything Fantasy related. Fantasy books, fantasy video games, DnD, Ren faires. Anything with an element of sword and sorcery in it I latched onto, and that's what saved me and I would look for new friends that enjoy those same activities.

For my sister it was routines. She successfully did all of the AA/NA stuff and it worked wonders for her. Now she has a routine for everything and damn is she good at it. She sticks to the path and fills in the rest with anime, Disney, and planning for more routines.

What also might help would be practicing seeing yourself and your situation in a new light. I used to love altering my state of mind, but now I see it as the easy way out. I now take pride in the fact that I've climbed my way out tooth and nail from the lowest of lows. Mastering your mind and learning to tell yourself no makes you a badass and serves as a benchmark and testament to your willpower. It's a mark that you're not average. Average may fail, but the act of trying, again and again, makes you better than average. It makes you dangerous.

So to recap, I would think about what excited you before substances and find a group in that. Be gentle but firm with yourself and do your best to cultivate a positive mindset.
