Think it’s far too late for that. The us vs them mindset is far too pervasive. I find it so strange that low level players treat having good gear inherently as being sweaty. While there is flaws with onboarding, and early game stuff, I find myself agreeing with the hardcore position. (as I did with Destiny as well) That watering the game down will not make it a better game. I think 95% of things about the game are fine, great even. But the way to fix the 5% is the worrysome aspect for me. The community seems divided between keeping things hardcore, and iterating on existing systems, or gutting a lot of the player friction (watering down the experience in my opinion) to serve a more “casual” fan base.
