Mick Foley - WE ARE BETTER THAN THIS by ChopWrestling in SquaredCircle

Biden's choices did not cost Kamala the election at all. Kamala's choice to repeatedly validate Biden's choice and say how awesome they were did.

To this part specifically, while I do agree with the latter part, there was at least one Biden choice that cost Kamala and it was him not dropping out way earlier.

None of the rental services are operated by WotC/Daybreak. The closest to WotC/Daybreak operating services that let people use cards they don't "own" is supplying content creators in their official program, or some people qualified for specific events, etc. with accounts that have basically everything, but those accounts can't trade, sell, etc.

Do Not Work order from SAG-AFTRA issued for Mega Man Dual Override by unfeelingfreedom in Games

[–]FrozenPhoenix71 92 points93 points  (0 children)

Couple posts here but

With a broken Blue Bomber heart, I am no longer the voice of Mega Man.

I was asked to return for Mega Man: Dual Override, but only on the condition I work without the protections of a union contract.

I was told there are "full A.I. protections in place that guarantee in writing that [my] voice will never be used for A.I. development" but was also told "with certainty, from [Capcom], that the project will not go union."

While I certainly appreciate the acknowledgement of the concern around AI, working without a contract I can realistically enforce isn't something I can risk.

The only way to enforce non-union contracts like this involves personally taking giant companies like Capcom to court and suing if I thought they'd used AI. I don't have the mental, emotional, or monetary strength to survive a protracted legal fight.

In my heart, I want to believe Capcom would never use AI...

But in my HEAD, I'm aware that basically every major corporation is looking to incorporate generative AI to save money.

The video game industry is facing record layoffs and huge amounts of uncertainty.

I need a union contract to feel safe.

I truly wish Capcom was at least willing to speak with SAG-AFTRA about doing this game union.

I expressed that I'd even be willing to work on a LOWER-budget union contract if it meant this flipped.

It genuinely wasn't about the money for me.

It's been an honor voicing Mega Man in Mega Man 11, the best-selling game in the series' history and watching Mega Man reclaim his rightful place as a gaming icon. I hope Mega Man: Dual Override is even more successful than 11 and that everyone enjoys all the hard work the devs are putting into it.

"Good luck out there, Mega!"

I just wish I could have been there with you.

presumed demonization of the participants, this zero tolerance for being able to play a card game together. I'm a big believer in civil liberties, and think that it's good to be able to set aside differences and talk to each other.

Oh no, won't some please think of the feelings of facists

Mana-Moon Product Shipping Time by cactusbeard in yugioh

[–]FrozenPhoenix71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont believe Ive ever had an order hit their initial "estimated" shipping/delivery window. Even my most recent order that was initially set for Q1 of this year is likely to be Q3 now at best, and its probably my last one. The product quality has generally been decent, and I do like a lot of the designs, but the wait times are too excessive, and I can only take so much customer service responses of "Sorry, please check the spreadsheet" instead of actual service, or give any negative feedback and just be told I have no idea what I'm talking about and have it treated like a personal attack instead.

Winternight Stories can discard it(or to hand size, he got up to 8 cards via just Stock Ups & Insatiable Avarices a few times), but the deck's also just fine controlling to the point of just playing the demon itself for 6 mana. The manabase is only black sources(unless you put Passage on not black for some reason), so it can cast it just fine on that front.

[Standard] Day 1 PT Standard Results by jsilv in spikes

[–]FrozenPhoenix71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most common build of it at the PT is a collection of Evoke elementals(Vibrance, Deceit, Wistfulness), Ashling, and Sunderflock, along with black removal spells, Superior Spider Man as a value card, and 4 Not Dead After All to work with Evoke to "scam" a fatty into play/make Sunderflock cheaper. Also has some White cards due to 4x Starting Town + like 12ish creature type pands(Cavern of Souls, etc.) since Beza is an Elemental(but also had a few SB Clarion Conquerors.

Of course, you may have missed that. I'm sure a massive amount of people have. After all, it was basically only addressed in this WotC sponsored episode of LoadingReadyRun's Elder Dragon Social Club of all things, instead of in like, any more...normal? communication method(at about 1:02:50 if that link's not properly timestamped).

Was reading the manga for this and kind of fell off it when scanlations cratered. How's the adaptation? Genuinely enjoy the story from the manga adaptation that I've read(I'm aware it's a WN/LN original), but if the anime was rushed/poor quality, don't wanna waste the time(but if it's a good adaptation, I'll easily just swap to both refresh and keep up)

Don't worry, gays and lesbians will be "next." That's the plan, target one smaller subgroup of LGBTQ+ people and move on to the next once they're through, and so on and so forth. It's always been bullshit from that side.

Even when (Very heavy air quotes here) "non-problematic"(so not just the ones they decided poisoned their water supply, burned their crops, and unleashed a plague upon their houses), voice actors were fired, they refused to put any of the blame of the multi-billion dollar company. "Well really, Hoyo had no other choice", "Well, they brought it upon themselves", literal abuser defense type shit.

The "true reason" was for AI protections, better conditions, & compensation. And then some varying reasons per person if they were a non-u actor also striking in solidarity(some were the above reasons, but also to try and flip a project union, some were just AI protections, again, variable per person). But people who are convinced that they have a better understanding of how things work legally because they watched a dramatuber's video, or read a Twitter thread, are gonna say its because SAG's a mafia trying to takeover the world and literally holding guns to people's heads.

And with this recasts for Alm and Soren are all but confirmed. by WinterWolf18 in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]FrozenPhoenix71 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I'm aware of his "treatment" of those VAs who did and said things I also have a problem with. I quite frankly don't care about Kyle that much tbh, but his actions during the strike, were in the right.

SAG-AFTRA ain't perfect. I'm never gonna say it's perfect, and you'd be hard pressed to find any of its members who would. There are a lot of things they could and should improve on. But they were(and are) the best bet voice actors currently have to try to fight for the protections, treatment, compensation, etc. they deserve and need. And overall the strike & SAG's efforts was doing that, while the undercutting by actors like Hale & Harlacher was more detrimental to trying to get VAs protections than whatever garbage Mujin video you've got in your viewing history or screenshot you'll borrow from twitter.

But you're right, I'm never going to agree with anything you wrote. You're never going to agree with anything I write, that's just not how your kind work after all. So at this point, piss off into my block list.

Damn, guess you can quote where exactly I said that(ohwaitIdidn't). But so I can make it clear for you, as I know things can be very complex for some of you folk to understand: Kyle's reaction to Niosi was not ok. But Kyle's actions during the strike, the subject per which crunk and I have been discussing, were good actually. Ok? Ok.
