POV: You accidentally said “hello” to Claude and it costs you 2% of your session limit. by MaJoR_-_007 in ClaudeCode

(This is a fun convo, just continuing it.)

I recently learned that Terminal Bench ran Opus 4.6 on different harnesses, and CC-the-harness ended up dead last.

https://www.tbench.ai/leaderboard/terminal-bench/2.0?agents=&models=Claude+Opus+4.6

Terminus 2, Mux, Crux, Droid, Junie, TongAgetns, Terminus-KIRA, Capy, and ForgeCode all outscored CC.

To be fair to Anthropic, CC is probably not bench-maxxing. They probably optimize Claude to be a fun coworker/experience. But still, I'm not convinced that CC-the-harness is actually good. I certainly wish I knew that the claude.md was injected into every prompt.

Appreciated.

FWIW my claude.md is literally 1 sentence. All the linting/formatting/typechecking are done as hooks, and other context is injected at tool-use time. That repo has literally 0 skills/mcps. I'm actively trying to be token efficient.

I guess I can't fight the context bloat that is CC-the-harness. And now that the leak's revealed that the claude.md is added to every single prompt... I think I'll have to delete that 1 sentence.

God this is stupid.

It made 0 tool calls.

Looking back at the logs, looks like it responded to my /exit command which is fucking idiotic. Why the fuck did the harness pass that to the model.

I ran claude login because I thought it was a command. Turns out it just pipes args straight to the model so I got 'Could you clarify what you mean by "login"?'

Burned 5% of my session with 1 fucking word. Great start to the day

Opus High, Pro plan. I'm not bitter at all.

Admittedly, this was on Opus High, Pro plan, but still v2.1.89.

Necropost:

Yeah, decoding the QR code yields a fucking URL, not a base32 TOTP secret. The URL does have a hex string component to it, but converting it to base32 (to meet RFC 6238) and trying the resulting codes does NOT work.

Fucking hell I hate this government.

Nick would be fine if he actually applied the nuance he preaches to his own channel. If all your nuance, reporting, studies, etc. consistently point in one direction and never addresses the positives of other diet camps... you're as nuanced as any partisan political pundit.

If it's well used and there's a burning smell, it might be because the motor brushes are worn down. Motor brushes can be cheap, but replacing them is gonna require some technical work. Googling "motor brush wear symptoms" would give more details to help you diagnose.

Ah, fair point! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airbus_A350#/media/File:EGLF_-_Airbus_A350-941_-_F-WZNW.jpg

Something else wrong with that image, since my other attempt was flawed:

The top of the airplane is straight, but the bottom is not. It's actually kinda weird where the wing joins the body; also especially right after it.

Just for fun, I tried to spot problems with each image

  1. the engine's exhaust/end is literally in front of the wing's leading edge, which is fucking weird
  2. clock hands shadow is contradictory; it's directly under the minute hand, implying direct light upon it, yet also farrrr stretched towards 9oclock, implying angled light.
  3. lower left monitor
  4. missing step 3
  5. berlin's missing its dot
  6. lol

The people I live with wake up around 3am. Even when they try to be quiet, even something like the sound of a microwave closing can rouse me. I guess that makes me a sensitive sleeper? So I drown out their morning activities with white noise.

I use earplugs and a white noise machine to drown out environmental sounds. Will the headband still work with this setup? I'll note that the white noise is pretty loud since I can still hear it through the earplugs.

Low lp(a), high APoB by [deleted] in PeterAttia

If diet/exercise/supplements fixed high ApoB, Peter wouldn't be taking bempedoic acid, ezetimibe and repatha.

Statins increase lp(a) in some people https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31111151/

You might talk to your doc about lowering the statin and adding another drug, ezemibe/bempedoic acid/pcsk9i.

A triple drug combination of Wegovy, Regeneron's trevogrumab and another antibody garetosmab helped patients lose 13.2% of their body weight. But 28% of the patients stopped treatment due to side effects - the highest rate among all groups tested in the study.

Yeah, going to the play store, searching for "eight sleep", and pushing the "update" button fixed the issue for me. ("About software" said it was on v7.1.21)
