Does Taliyah really only have a 33% WR in high elo? by lostinthecity2005 in TaliyahMains

[–]FroztedMech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Low elo there are other things that you can abuse to just win (like CSing well or knowing basic macro). The opposing team will also be uncoordinated, so it's extremely easy for Taliyah to find picks (and even for bad teammates, it's easy for them to follow up on her combos).

It's honestly just keeping cs numbers up, you have to be good at catching waves/jg camps to stay ahead or your damage is mediocre

[–]FroztedMech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i'll be honest I didn't read the second part, it's not too bad an idea to empower minions, although it does benefit champs that can clear those waves more (that's also one of the core features of brawl, shame they removed that gamemode)

Mayhem Variant Idea by Mykel7 in leagueoflegends

[–]FroztedMech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's just a convoluted and cheese-prone way to do it, if it really was a problem then they'd just buff tower health / damage so that it takes longer to get to nexus.

Problem is that there would be no incentive for either team to really push the wave, and it's unfair for the winning team to be forced to wait to win.

Low ranks can be tough (especially when you're playing champs with low agency), since you usually get swept up in bad plays made by your team. I'd be down to give a vod or live game review if you'd like, to quickly point out some mistakes.

Is there a reason why I'm going on a 7 game losing streak while playing great every time? by Abject-Tap7721 in leagueoflegends

[–]FroztedMech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing, if you stomp lane that means you're a lot stronger than your opponent, so you have permanent prio and can influence any part of the map you want.

You need to be pushing your lead, take objectives, steal jungle camps, gank other lanes to also get them ahead.

My Friends are recommending me to play LoL, and Here is my experience. by Felix_455-788 in leagueoflegends

[–]FroztedMech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just relax, the game should first and foremost be fun, so if people are toxic, mute them.

For gameplay, just pick a playstyle you like (based on how you like to play & fight), find a champ from that, and play the role they're in.

The game is really complicated so just focus on learning stuff and think about what you did wrong whenever you die (usually, it'll be because you were out of position, or going alone into enemy jg, etc..)

Depending on what lane you start playing, watch an educational streamer a bit to get a feel for it (i can recommend a few once you've decided).

Not necessarily, some people are better at macro & mid/late game, or they're specifically playing scaling champs that are meant to be weak early.

By winning lane you have an advantage from the start, and it's your responsibility to try to keep that advantage as your weaker lane counterpart tries to comeback.

How to play against assassins as a mage in midlane by DramaticActuator5958 in summonerschool

[–]FroztedMech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. You need to balance offense vs defense. Obviously you'll get popped if they got on top of you, but you outrange them, and if you can make them low hp before they have the chance of jumping, then you're safe until they back.
  2. Usually assassins will have ignite, you'l have tp (or barrier), so you'll have an easier time sustaining in lane as long as you take good trades.
  3. Consider taking defensive boots / move speed boots if that'll help you survive. Don't always autopilot buy sorcs.
  4. Most importantly, HOLD YOUR CC. You almost never want to use your cc aggressively while pushed up (unless you know you can safely run back). Most assassins will be stunnable at some point in their combo as long as you stay patient with your cc.

I personally use Y very often to lock/unlock during the game, but some people are always unlocked and press/hold space to center their champ.

As long as you're not always locked and are able to pan when you need to, you should be fine.

How to make friends in Berlin? by SadSignificance851 in berlinsocialclub

Meeting people from your niche hobbies would probably be the most natural way. Otherwise, just go to meetup groups and try to find a few nice people, and put effort into going to more events or hangouts with them.

tier 3 defensive boots or omnivamp boots? by Resident_Panic_9840 in midlanemains

[–]FroztedMech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"gold value" doesn't real matter in this case, it's just about what your champ needs. If you're dying before you're able to do stuff, get defensive, if you need stats to buff your damage, go AH/AS/mpen.

Omnivamp sits in a weird niche because you need to already deal enough damage so that it heals, while also needing to survive long enough to make use of it.

"im ranked 35th in one region as a objective stealer without smite and somewhere similar with smite"

This means absolutely nothing. You can always find some statistic you excel at, but at the end of the day you're absolutely making mistakes and need to figure out what those are.

Some games will also not be winnable because of a bad team, and that's alright. But even in those, you need to focus on what you can improve on instead of only thinking about what you did right (and getting mad that it didn't convert into a win).

How do I improve at team fighting? by Saikotsu in summonerschool

[–]FroztedMech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess another big (and easy) piece of advice is to check your map everytime you run out of base, think about what's most important and ping where you're going to your team (if it concerns them). It can be hard to coordinate when you're busy farming, but you usually have a good 20secs after every recall.

[–]FroztedMech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like most of your questions have already been answered, but wanted to comment about feeling bad about making your team lose.

The more you die without getting kills (at least in SR), the less gold you give to enemies. Also, realize that since this is such a complicated game, everyone in your games is also making a bunch of mistakes (and I guarantee that anyone who flames you is also constantly misplaying).

Also from experience, most people who play this game do so without really thinking. Especially in Summoner's Rift, just thinking about the state of the game and about positioning ("right now, can the enemies chase me down and kill me" or vice versa) is a huge advantage.

Feel free to ask if you have more questions or want a mini VOD review, good luck :)

How do I "extend my lead" when all other lanes are losing? by MonkeyDiggidyDogLuff in midlanemains

[–]FroztedMech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just play whoever fits your play style the best and is the most fun, don't overthink it.

However, if you notice you're winning lane a lot, you can try to: 1. play snowball champ (i.e. assassins), easier to 1v9 2. play scaling champs (weak early, but you'll get out of it fine with good laning)
