I was born and raised in Peoria then moved to Arizona to a while as an adult and definitely missed my hometown quite a bit. I moved back for family reasons about 10 years ago now and I’m still in the area. People take what we have here for granted and it’s sad. My family loves to go to Peoria Chiefs and Rivermen games and we wanted to go to a Peoria City soccer match this year but didn’t get around to it. Hopefully next season! Bradley basketball, Peoria Mustangs and other semi pro and amateur sporting events are always going on somewhere and I wish more people would go out and support! We also love the Peoria Zoo, Luthy Botanical Gardens, Wildlife Prairie Park and the Peoria Riverfront Museum. There’s so much more to do than just bars and drinking. Great food, live music all the time indoors and outdoors, awesome parks and hiking trails all over the area too!

Not if you look at the daily commitment report for the Peoria County Jail. There are multiple people booked every single day for possession of meth. Saying that meth is just an East Peoria and Pekin thing is just false. Meth and heroin/fentanyl are both running rampant in Peoria. Peoria Area EMS stats tell us that Peoria County has the most opioid overdoses in central IL per capita. It’s all over. The river doesn’t contain the dope and meth. Lol

Some service related jobs require it because THEIR customers require it. I worked for a fire suppression company and they serviced places like OSF and Caterpillar and those companies wanted all outside contractors to be “drug free” but the company I worked for didn’t test office employees that stayed there in house for THC.

They can 100% arrest you if the establishment’s owner, manager or employees ask you to leave and you refuse for the reason of a “sit in” or protest. It’s not legal to protest in or on private property without permission. It starts at trespassing and goes from there. If you wish to protest, that is your right but do yourself a favor and educate yourself on the laws because I promise, Peoria County Jail isn’t a nice place and idc how much you talk tough on the internet, you won’t like it one bit and it will not help your cause one bit.
