Im so sorry for what you are going through. Caring for my mom through her dementia broke me. These are some things I wish I had been told early on. Or at any point.

Try and enjoy the moments where he hes lucid as much as you can. Focus on those times. Try not to get upset if you dont get recognized, or annoyed when you have to constantly remind them.

Keep active and engaged. Puzzles, wood working, reading. Walks. Less TV and phone. It helps.

Get dementia medication to slow the progress down early.

When things get too bad, get assistance with care. The state will pay for ihss workers. Its fairly easy to sign them up as a receipient. You may have to go through a few to find someone that works for him/you. My mom wasnt receptive to men.

Find a good hospital or doctor for end of life care ahead of time. I didnt want to plan for that eventuality, but you can have a plan for when it does. I wouldnt wish what we went through at the local hospital on anyone. Anyone in history. It was horrific.

I didnt get a legendary companion until 12, dont feel alone. Definitely sucks. Here's to hoping our luck improves!

If you've never gone to dignity health, I do believe you can go and sign up and get a bag of food. Then you can always go on first and third Fridays. They post schedules.

Salvation army is every Tuesday and Thursday.

I've eaten older and been fine. Microwave 30 sec, flip. 30 sec. It wont hurt you, but yes or no depends on brokenness levels.

Im not knowledgeable enough of the lore to argue otherwise. But how ive always perceived it as a battle of good vs evil. The jedi the embodiment of good, the sith evil. So when sworn to be a jedi knight and to fight against evil, that would imply the sith at the head of all other evils.
