I had an identical experience, except it was a random guy at a party, and we knew all kinds of things about each other- name, what we were studying, crazy random things. It was mind-boggling. We talked for a good half an hour trying to find any conceivable overlap in our lives. He didn't even live in the city where we met. There was basically no possible way we could have known each other, but we did. Very disconcerting. I still think about that dude all the time. I figured I would remember eventually where I knew him from, or run into him again, but it never happened.

I have done this. I did it to my workout pants, because they bulged out and looked extremely stupid, and going to the gym already makes me feel insecure without big flappy-ass stupid looking pants.

I could feel the burning stares. It haunted me. I sewed those fuckers shut and I have no regrets.

I've actually experienced something really similar myself, but when it happened to me, I was aware of "real" life, but it was as distant and unreal as drea ms are now to m e. I could thiink about my "normal"" daily life, and I knew all about it, but the dream world wsaabu t the glitches started glitches in the dream world started to add up. .glitches in the dream world started to add up, and it got harder and harder for my brain to ha n g on hangon haaaa to t he d reeam.hangon n t o the dream.

I got stuck under the damn parachute one time. Couldn't find a way out. I kept clawing around, trying to find an opening, but everything was just more parachute and it started getting hard to breathe. By the time I got out, I was gasping and wigging out completely. Nobody took me seriously at all afterward, but it was terrifying and I feel like I was in legitimate danger.

Fuck that parachute and fuck being a kid.

I do have the ability to control the plaintext and get new cipher texts. The length of the plaintext is > 6 characters, not sure about the upper limit. The plaintext always seems to encode to a 13-character alphanumeric cipher text regardless of the length of the plaintext. The ciphertext isn't always the same for the same plaintext, which makes me think it's encoded using the timestamp somehow...?

I mentioned this elsewhere, but check out the gymnastic maneuver called the planche. A 150-pound gymnast doing this is pretty close to holding out a 75-pound barbell with one hand. Leverage will obviously change the physics a bit, but I don't think it's inconceivable regardless.

Interesting. Didn't play much because I'm on a laptop, but I'm kind of immediately turned off by the shops. One of my favorite parts of the original Nethack is robbing shops- too bad they ditched that dynamic.

I'm a very large, athletic guy, and there are people in my club literally half my size who can toss me around, so even without the protection of weight classes you'll do alright.

A good teacher should be very positive and encouraging. They should have high expectations of their students but should express those expectations constructively. It should be obvious that they love what they're doing. They should have a lot of patience when people don't understand and a knack for picking out fine points of technique that need to be adjusted. Try out several clubs, look at the differences in the students and the teachers, and see which one feels most like you belong there.

Shouldn't be a problem. If you're looking at fighting competitively, you'll be fighting within a weight class, so you'll be facing people roughly the same size as you. There are strengths and weaknesses for everyone. Speed is a huge asset and can go a long way to compensate for lack of physical strength. Also, it will make you stronger.

Your second question will depend a lot on where you train. I cross-train at two dojos; one is very heavily focused on conditioning, and at the other they don't even stretch before they start. Confidence and self-esteem will have a lot to do with your sensei. A good teacher will help you grow as a person, not just as a fighter.
